I’m still excited about this reel because my first shimano bait caster was the first caenan the silver and burgundy color one that came out in 2011 this is when I realized what real baitcasters were supposed to work like before this I had a lews and before that I had a pinnacle which was actually a decent reel but that set and forget six pin braking system was my introduction to simple yet extremely ingenious engineering and easy casting. I have never bought another brand of baitcasters ever since.

Why would you recommend another medium light rod if he already has one?

This decision is totally up to you... What do you think is missing for the type of applications you fish, spinnerbaits, jigs, crank-baits, frogs and so on each combo has its place like every tool in your tool box. What do you think you need to add for your style of fishing? Get what you need to get the job done.

I personally wouldn’t put it on the foot of the guide either but I got what your saying it is annoying to buy a rod then have to worry about spending 8 bucks on a keeper you would think the manufacturer would do that for us already. I guess they are trying to save 8 bucks to?

Yeah don’t put it on your guides. Just put it on your reel but I don’t see what the big deal is in ordering a pack of hook keepers for your rod I use them on some of my rods.

It’s not as hard as you might think start off by taking apart your cheaper reels. I just started doing my own tear downs and realized that reels really are not that complicated they are all seem pretty similar also. The hardest thing about it is not losing parts.

I have the mojo jerk bait rod and it can work for all those applications stated above topwater jerkbaits square bills and weightless soft plastics wacky rigs and such. I use it mainly for flukes I like glass for treble baits.

From my understanding it also will make your rod float if it happens to fall in the sink.

Looks like those are it. But their really is no way for me to authenticate em I ordered a 25 pack of VMC wacky hooks a while ago in the pack. I personally would want them in the original packaging.
