  1. Oh my word, that is Huuuuge! I’ve never heard of a 25lb fish bottoming out a 50lb scale, one might think it was over 50lb?? ^to above comments*
  2. I had to look up these rods/guides ‘cause I haven’t heard of them. I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around why they would be more sensitive vs metal guides. Do you know why this is the case? Most metal transmits vibration very well of course, that’s a no brainer, and why I’m confused lol.
  3. Just fine for schoolies with properly set drag. Don’t dunk your reel. A 30lber on 10lb line on the jetties is asking a bit much though.
  4. Nice!! That’s cool, You tie them on Jigheads? Mine bigger... lol just playin
  5. Wow! Awesome salmon! That’s a really cool spot.
  6. You will have a blast fishing in South Florida since many bodies of water here are very clear, both freshwater and saltwater. Actually, I think my first experience being able to see the fish eat the bait (besides maybe little sunfish) was in south Florida, on a bridge in the Keys When I was a little kid. Caught some barracuda looking fish, and got bit off by a hammerhead. That was super exciting lol.
  7. “Time to persue” the relatively minor offense in a small water is one thing, what is surprising is that they said there are no laws against it?
  8. Don’t tell the wife she could’ve submitted it for an IGFA all tackle record if it wasn’t caught by by both of you. ??. Congrats, that’s a tank! 62cm=24.4”
  9. @The Dread Pirate Fisherman Im really surprised to hear that. That wouldn’t fly in Maine unless it was catch and kill policy. You think they’d say the same thing if it was native brookies?
  10. Your rod would probably work fine. I like Scott’s comment above^ Just pay close attention. You probably already know that when working the 90 at any distance, you have to keep the rod tip high to make it “plop”. It doesn’t give you much room to set the hook. Drop the rod, reel like hell, feel the pressure and pull.
  11. I’ve thrown it with success on a 7’MLF. Not my first choice though.
  12. ... On the ramp? Yeah I always catch it when I remember to unstrap the boat ?
  13. I use some fly fishing forcepts that have a serrated cutting edge. They’re stainless steel, and are always clipped to my belt on a retracting chain. Only 4” long BTW, pic doesn’t show scale very well.
  14. 4 years and I haven’t done it yet... knocks on wood...
  15. He said he’s old, he doesn’t know what that means?
  16. ^Gotcha. Makes sense. I wasn’t thinking about the bilge pump and livewells. My bilge pump is a flat sided milk jug w/top cut off ?
  17. Curious, what is the theory behind this law?
  18. Another vote for 30lb or 40lb braid, buy some spools of mono and flouro for leaders and you can cover a lot.
  19. Wow, the tail looks awful long as well
  20. Welcome to bass resource ? Just kidding, you must have posted this in the wrong spot. Wild! Thats some redneck stuff right there. Hopefully they are using good air filters at least, air is far from clean out of a standard compressor. Especially a gas powered one where the fumes will be mixed in.
  21. I have no idea if you have a modified Jon boat or a ranger bass boat. This makes a difference. A new motor of any make and model might bolt right on, or you might need an adapter. Plug configuration could be different on your new used motor, and in the case of the wiring, if it’s a modified boat, it’s possible the wire gauge is inadequate if you choose to get a larger motor. This was Just a suggestion. ?‍♂️I thought a pic and some more info would help
  22. You should at least give some rough specs on your boat. You need to learn your boats power supply regardless, and if you need help in the process, post some pics. If your “accessory” battery is smaller than your outboards cranking battery, you may need to consider upgrading. But again, we need to know more info before making suggestions ?
  23. Correct, that part of the video is fine. And you can throw an A-rig if you want, but only one of the baits can have hooks.
  24. Here, You can’t use more than one lure or bait with hooks on one rod. The crankbait trick is cool, similar concept to trolling dodgers.
