  1. 300 Tranx would be overkill for that task. Ultimately, a lot of factors would decide my pick. Line selection is number one, how often do you plan to throw the 10XD, and round reel or low profile? Not a big round reel fan but the 200D Calcutta would be an excellent choice escpecially if you intend to throw the big cranks like the 8XD, 10 XD, Dredger 20.5 and 25.5, Z-Boss 24 and 25, etc. Plus the Launcher isn't what I would deem light so it would balance it out great. If you planned to primarily stay with the 6XD and other baits similar, the Curado K 6 gear ratio would be a fine choice. It has plenty of line capacity and the 6 gear ratio Curado handles those baits just fine.
  2. I agree if the braid fades you can use a sharpie. I have been doing this with the Seaguar Smackdown. However, J Braid doesn't fade, it actually bleeds lol. Great line but I don't use it because of that reason.
  3. Topwater, jerkbaits, finesse jigs, smaller shakeyheads. It's extremely versatile.
  4. Around that price, I recommend the Phenix Recon Elite, St Croix Avid, Tatula Elite AGS, and Shimano Expride. Not a fan of ALX. Between the ALX and Expride, easily the Expride.
  5. I seem to be in the minority lol. I like PP Super Slick. I typically use 50-65 lb. I mainly use smackdown on spinning. I use Sufix 832, PP Super Slick, Seaguar Smackdown. Those are the only braids I use.
  6. I have noticed a difference with the double vs the san diego jam knot for fluorocarbon. Figured the differences would be minute but no idea why the holds up noticeable better in strength tests
  7. Fished them all. There is no bad option. I like the NRX but not for the OPs purpose of moving baits as well. My preference would be the 7'3 MH Poison, Daemos. The GLX and Conquest would be a great option as well. Not a custom rod fan, as production rods have plenty of offerings. I only recommend custom if what you are looking for is not available or readily available The Xtasy is good but I find the sensitivity underwhelming for the price tag. I have nothing but great things to say about the Destroyers. A+
  8. I personally wouldn't go custom. The Megabass Destroyer Daemos would be prefect for what you are looking to do
  9. Personally wouldn't throw a S Waver 168 on it as I find many other better options but whatever floats your boat. Great rod for jigs/frogs
  10. Haha you scared me lol ?.
  11. I saw a max rating of 90. Not sure what boat you may have been looking at that states 175. I thought it sounded off when he had a 90 and others have 70s and 90s and you mentioned 175 max hp
  12. Oh Canada! Our home and native land! I'm not Canadian but have been to Toronto, Prince Edward Island, as well as explored Nova Scotia multiple times. Amazing place. BTW yes Tim Hortons is better than Starbucks and Scottsboro ice cream is better than anything else here. All kidding aside, the rod is spectacular. The AGS guides were a great touch!
  13. I'll stay with my FC line. No issues. If it isn't broke, don't fix it mentality. Can't convince me but thanks for your time and effort.
  14. I'm sure you'd be fine either way. My swim jig rods usually have 50 lb braid or 17 lb fluorocarbon.
  15. I disagree. There are many advantages. Braided line to leader on a spinning reel allows for more line capacity than straight mono. Braided line to fluorocarbon leader is also more sensitive than mono. Braid on a spinning reel also casts further than straight mono or flourocarbon. Braided line to leader also allows easy, quick changes regarding situations. Lets say you have a 20 lb main line braid to a 8 lb fluorocarbon leader and want to go to 10 lb for a certain situation I can have that done it 1 minute, whereas a straight mono or fluorocarbon would result in having to pick up a different rod/reel or respooling. Braided line also last longer than monofilament. However, there is an additional knot for the leader if you know how to tie a proper leader knot, you'll have no issue. I have never had a leader fail on a fish.
  16. I use the Perfect Pitch for isolated cover (laydowns) skipping bushes and trees with Spro Popping frogs mainly in the river. It's perfect for what I use it for but for a 3/4 oz frog in heavier cover, like you said, I would prefer a touch more power.
  17. The XX Perfect Pitch is an excellent rod for frogs as well, I have one myself ?. I would have a vote for the MB Destroyer Valdivia if a 7'6 frog rod doesn't bother you for your Big Gabots, King Daddys, Gavachos, and other bigger frogs. It makes for an excellent jig rod/Carolina rig/frog rod.
  18. My address is... ? send me some lol. Looks good though. I need to start pouring some baits.
  19. The Expride is truly great rod! Highly recommended
  20. Good choice. Have you tried V2 Super Slick?
  21. I agree! I really like the 100 but the SV is sweet!
  22. Power Pro V2. Not too picky on color but like the onyx
