  2. Bravo! They look fantastic
  3. Senko, curly tail grub, small swimbaits, crankbaits, jerkbait, Shakey head, zman trd.. just think small and finesse and you should have a fun day! They will also hit most largmouth baiys.. they just stage in different areas..
  4. Great.. thanks everyone.. I'll check out eBay.. I appreciate the input
  5. Looking to buy a shimano baitcasters (curado k) and money is tight.. can anyone recommend any Amazon businesses that are trustworthy and cheap? I'd appreciate any help.. thanks
  6. Keitech easy shiners with a ball head jig.. 1/8-1/4 oz.. I usually fish 3/16oz.. yo-yo it off the bottom.. or just slow roll it along the bottom.. both species love them!
  7. Thanks for the replies everyone.. I'm looking forward to trying this technique. I'm thinking it will do great in a river I fish in as well as Champlain.. I'll keep the water temp in mind.. Steve- thanks for the message. Greatly appreciated
  8. Alright guys.. I am ready to start trying/utilizing a new technique.. After watching a few videos on hair jigs I'm anxious to try this out and see how the Champlain smallies like them.. I'm thinking like 1/16-1/4 oz.. so pretty finesse hair jigs.. Any recommendations on some companies that make nice hair jigs? I truly have no idea on what company to even start with.. Also- what techniques do you like? I've read that a straight retrieve or a pendulum retrieve works best.. Any tips, tricks, brands or stories would be appreciated.. looking forward to some responses! Thanks
  9. You would think that they'd pick a better body of water with all the great fisheries in Texas.. I get not wanting to fish the same lakes ( fork, Rayburn etc..) but there must be a better option than this swamp.. seems pretty frustrating for the anglers.. and us fans..
  10. Sounds like a great day! Congrats
  11. Congratulations! That is an amazing catch. Great job grinding that one location! Attention to detail and persistence pays off! Especially with smallmouth!
  12. I live in northern Vermont and my best baits are : 1) Shakey head 2) wacky rig 3) small swimbaits 4) jerkbait 5)crankbait If I had to pick three... Tough one, but I'd pick 3,4,5 just because they are my favorite ways to fish! I get most success from 2,3,4 usually..
  13. I agree 100%.. I use to just cast it and swim it back but man oh man there are SO many more options on how to fish that bait. It's unbelievable..
  14. I bought two of the Shimano expride this year.. great rod for the money imo.. but I'd probably say the falcon bucoo mh,mod fast would be my go too.. the thing is an awesome all around rod..
  15. Last year I would've said Shakey head.. this year however, round ball jig with a small paddletail. Fish it fast, slow, shallow, deep, vertical, swimmig So versatile and it can catch some Biggins!
  16. They have been unbelievable! It's a great show of how Bruce Cassidy and the scouting team have really figured things out.. he is a great coach and the Young guns are really great players that have bought into the system and are having fun.. it's been great to see, the next few years are going to be a great time if your a bruins fan!!
  17. Great deal on the ploppers!
  18. Goose tastes great! The popper idea mentioned above is an excellent choice, mixing them with some pork fat for hot dogs is very good, or just grilling the breast in some butter, pepper, parm, garlic is a very tasty option as well Message me if anyone wants any good recipes.. I've got a few..
  19. Yea I've seen some big LMB come out of Arrowhead.. there's also a lot of nice smallies that I catch east of the Highbridge, heading up the lamoille, I grew up fishing Fairfield pond at my grandparents camp.. that place is a hidden gem for bass.. a lot of fun.. I've never fished monkton. I'll have to try it.. I'll shoot ya a message after work.. thanks!
  20. Great, thanks for the info.. I'm going to try and get out this Sunday if the weather is nice enough..
  21. Yea I live right next to Arrowhead lake in Milton.. that's open but so is the dam.. once the weather breaks I'll hit the shoreline. Some of the shoreline is opened up enough to fish, idk if the bass will be that shallow yet.. I'm having a hard time remembering what the tug feels like! Hopefully this weather turns soon What other ponds in the Champlain valley are ice free? Thanks for the info on the kayak series.. that may be something I look into..
  22. Hey, anyone having any luck in upstate VT? I've been out pounding the banks on the lamoille a few times without a bite.. Champlain is final starting to thaw out.. in everyone's experience, when do the bass start becoming more active? This year is frustrating seeing how it refuses to warm up at all. Idk how many more times I can organize my tackle!! Haha On a plus side, I'm looking at purchasing my first fishing kayak this year. Hoping that helps the ability to try more spots.
  23. I've been a bruins fan since I was a kid.. I didn't have a lot of expectations going into this year but they have proven themselves over and over.. I still think they're a touch young/inexperienced to win the cup but they definitely have the drive to make it interesting!! Just as long as the penguins don't win, I'll be happy..
  24. I'm not sure if they have a bass club around here. Something I'll definitely look into it. Thank you.. I enjoy fishing from the shore as well.. reminds me of when I first started fishing the Brook down the street catching shiners.. a boat would be a fun opportunity as well
