It was a nice day yesterday a caught some bass with the 841 and a #5 shad rap. The rod is better than I thought it would be I bought it to take the place of spinning and bfs to fish small crankbaits and it works perfect. I wanted a 6’11” Kasumi but I found 841 at a local shop at a good price now that I’ve used it not disappointed at all I didn’t get the Megabass

I got the 841c cbr and tried it out on my pond yesterday since the ice went out. It’s better than I thought it would be. Put an Aldebaren BFS on it and tried a LC 1.5 squarebill a #5 shad rap and a Pointer 65 and casts them all really well even tried a 1/16th oz jig with a 2.75 Rage swimmer and casts this real well. Not what you call BFS but a great alternative to spinning

Thanks that’s what I wanted to hear. I have an NRX Plus 841c Inshore with an Aldebaren BFS on it and use it with 1/15 and 1/10 oz TRDs and it’s great for this and light plastics I thought the crankbait rod would work well for treble hook baits

Any one using this for small cranks? Larger BFS cranks, 5 Shad Rap, LC65, maybe even smaller swimbaits. Would be putting an Aldebaren BFS on it. I can pick one up pretty reasonable. Thanks in advance for comments

I keep some out of my pond to control over population mainly in fall when water is cool

I go to the one in Indy every year and it is not what it used to be but I still enjoy going

I went with a 110 Stick and Aldebaren 50 a couple years ago and is best set up I have ever used. 110s 110jrs and even casts x Nanahan really well. Also a great top water outfit

Any of you using braid for crankbaits? I have an older GLX 855cbr almost like new with a Metanium MGL that for years used 10lb Invizx and got along well. Last year I switched to 30lb Smackdown with a floro leader and really like it. I don’t lose fish and the casting and feel is great. After I used this for a year I saw one of videos doing same set up David Fritz uses

I have a Pop X Stick with an Aldebaren BFS on it and will do all OP asks. Also have an Expride 6’8” light with an Aldebaren BFS and will also do all OP asks plus is better with plastics

I have the Pop X Stick and it’s great for treble hook baits but for everything Shimano Expride 6’8” light is great both with Aldebaren BFS. But for small plastics my NRX Plus 841c Inshore with Aldebaren BFS is my favorite. Can’t go wrong with any of them. Good luck

Orvis and Mad River Outfitters both have a lot of bass flies

The thing I saw going from blue label to gold label other than being better line is knot strength being much better especially in braid to floro with Alberto knot. If you do Alberto right they don’t break as they do occasionally with blue, tatsu and abrazx

I used to use blue label and it’s pretty good but not near as good as gold label. Both are better than regular floro

Best has been NRX plus 842s. I’ve done well with NRX 852s jwr. Best with 110 jrs and handles 110s is NRX 822 dsr all with Stradic 3000 xg and braid to floro leader.

I will probably use my NRX Plus 843c MBR and thanks for replies
