I just bought a Dobyns CH806CB rod for big cranks and smaller a rigs. I have a Curado DPV 5.0:1 reel on spooled with 20lb Abrazx. 20 lb is probably too much for cranks but I don't want to go any lighter for a rigs. Any of you using this line for both baits and what line are you going with. Thinking about braid to leader Thanks

Zona has a you tube video on his favorite floro knot it looks like a Trilene knot. Fairly easy to tie and I have never had it fail. You end up with 3 tag ends and double line in your hook eye

I’m using NRX 852s Stradic 2500 with 20 lb Smackdown and 8 lb Gold Label leader and works really well in limited cover. In cover an NRX 893c and 30lb Smackdown and 15lb Abrazx leader works great for me

I have the NRX 822 dsr and NRX + 822 syr and they are not the same. The 822 syr is a more of a jig-shakey head with a faster action. Both are great rods but not nearly the same

I got away from using TW but placed an order recently and got part of the order today. I had a ? and did a chat with them. All ?s were answered in less than 5 minutes, I was impressed

Trilene knot works very well and I think that is what Zona shows on You Tube as his floro knot

I have had a NRX 822 dsr for a couple years and it works well for light 1/15 oz Ned rigs and really well as a light jerkbait rod

Just got a new NRX + 822syr. I put a Stradic 2500 with 20lb Smackdown and an 8 lb Gold leader. Been trying it out in my pond and 1/15 oz Z Man Ned rig is working well and will easily go heavier. Really sensitive rod total weight of this set up is 11.7 oz

I ended up getting the NRX + 822 syr and glad I did. Been experimenting in my pond before it gets put in my Ranger and it works fine with 1/15 oz Z Man Ned rig and will easily be able to go quite a bit heavier and also works well with 78 pointer. I already had an NRX 822 dsr so the new one won't be used for drop shot

Does anyone have an NRX + 821 Ned Rig Rod or an NRX + 822 Shakey Head Rod and if so how do you like them Thanks John

Only 1 would be tough t deal with but if I had to it would probably be a G Loomis NRX 872s JWR with a Shimano Stradic 3000

A discontinued GLX 821s SYR rod and an NRX 901s JWR BOTH WORK WELL FOR ME.

Just got back from northern MN and found a great use for for my NRS 901S JWR. Used it with a Screw Pointer and works great, casts really far and no problem keeping nice smallmouth pinned. This is a discontinued model but I see they are offering it in the new NRX Plus.

Not for an Ulterra unless something new just came out

I have several Loomis NRX rods spinning and casting and they are great rods but in the last 2 years I have had 3 custom rods done by Hawkeye Custom Rods in Rainshadow Immortal blanks that are pretty equal to Loomis in my hands for about half the cost. I don't see how you can go wrong either way.

Lucky Craft 65 Pointer has worked very well for me

I have a Minn Kota Ulterra and Lowrance HDS live units. Thinking about getting Active Target but would have to use some kind of after market mounting system for the transducer. Is Active Target worth the hassle of having a pole with the transducer that you have to drop in and take out each time you move. Thanks for any suggestions. John

I have a 619 Ranger fs with HDS 12 live at bow and console. Thinking about getting Active Target since it is compatible with my units but don't know how I could run transducer cable up trolling motor shaft since it is an Ulterra. Since it retracts all the way up to the motor I don't even know if the transducer could be mounted on it. Thanks in advance for any ideas. John

I also have NRX 852c JWR and a NRX 852s JWR and a NRX 893c JWR. Don't see how you could go wrong with any of those for Senkos. You would not be dissapointed with the spinning 852 NRX

I use Smackdown on all of mine and I think it is very smooth. 20lb on spinning 30lb on casting

Thanks for the replys and I use baitcast some but injury keeps me from using for long periods using my left arm with baitcast, so spinning works better for me right handed.

I use spinning rod for most of my jerkbait fishing. If you could have any Loomis rod for this what would you choose at any price rod. I fish mostly 78 Pointers, 97 Slender Pointers, and 7/16 X Raps. Or another brand other than Loomis. Thanks
