Jig rod for both skipping and flipping?
These are good suggestions guys, thanks! I discovered the Dobyns 735 could work as well. I may be leaning towards Dobyns rods for the warranty, and it turns out there's a small shop near me that carries some and can order any model I want (our rod selection in Ontario isn't great). I'll keep taking any other brand ideas that you have! Also for a reel, I'm thinking a Tatula SV.

Jig rod for both skipping and flipping?
Hey everyone - I'm looking for a rod that has a light enough tip to skip jigs under docks, but has enough backbone to pitch into some cover (thinking of sparse laydowns, open gaps in lily pads and milfoil, long grass). I would using 3/8oz and 1/2oz mostly. Lets keep the budget under the $200 mark, and length around 7'-7'4''. I've been reading good reviews on the Dobyns Fury 734. I have a Mojo Bass 7' MH Fast and don't feel it has the backbone for pitching into the cover I mentioned. Should I be using 2 different rods for these applications? Thanks everyone

Plano 3601 availability in Ontario
The closest I've found is from Cabelas. They are 0.5'' thicker than the 3601, so I'm not sure if that'll work for you. I bought mine from the Barrie store but you can get them online as well. https://www.cabelas.ca/product/63592/cabelas-prolatch-utility-box-by-plano-4-pack Hope this helps!

Non tournament guys
In southwestern Ontario, I carry 4 in my boat, all baitcasting. 7'4'' heavy, 40lb braid - frogs, heavier flipping with jigs, light swimbaits 7'1'' medium xfast, 30lb braid - wacky worms, jerkbaits, topwater (high vis braid to co poly leader) 7' medium/heavy moderate, 12 lb co poly - cranks (mostly squarebills) 7' medium/heavy fast, 40lb braid- paddletail swimbaits, texas rigs, jigs Up here our cover isn't too heavy and 40lb braid works great for me. Hope to add a rod for 3/8-3/4oz jigs next, and max out at 5 on my boat deck.

Need some value priced polarized sunglasses
These are some Kastking polarized glasses that I just bought. Love them so far! Very durable build and great clarity. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071ZFGTJP/ref=s9u_cartx_gw_i3?ie=UTF8&fpl=fresh&pd_rd_i=B071ZFGTJP&pd_rd_r=5473136a-fb2c-11e7-a93f-53683bc212b0&pd_rd_w=vnhx0&pd_rd_wg=VYmev&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=&pf_rd_r=7EPY3APAX9ZCV091V2M4&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=e6624b56-7cc1-411f-9d12-9cc8feb6c214&pf_rd_i=desktop

TW order did not go through...
I emailed TW about billing/shipping address and they said all international shipping addresses must be the same as the billing address. Maybe adding the address of a shipping depot to my visa or calling TW and explaining things is the answer

TW order did not go through...
Here's a question - being from Ontario and only living a few minutes from Michigan, I would like to place an order from TW and ship it to a shipping depot in Michigan, then go across and pick it up. I can get free shipping that way. Would TW process the order since it's being shipped to a different address than my billing?

Low Price Gloomis, Dobyns, St Croix
My general purpose rod is a 7' MH fast Mojo. I use it for almost everything in the 3/8 to 1oz range. The rod is highly sensitive and lightweight, and feels amazing in my hands. Some say the mojo lineup are heavy rods, I don't agree with that. I can't speak to the other rods you mentioned, but I have 3 rods in the mojo lineup now and love every one of them.

Personal Favorite Lure
#1 top producer for me is a bone zara chug'n spook jr. Catches them all day or night. #2 is a wacky 5'' yamamoto senko, #3 is yamamoto kreature t-rigged with a 1/4 oz tungsten weight. Green pumpkin or junebug colors. Going to try an s-waver 168, whopper plopper 110, and keitech 4.8 and 5.8 this year to see if any of these will be as good as my top three.

How's she going eh..from Ontario Canada
Hey all - long time reader. Love the site, it's a wealth of knowledge that I love to dig into. Fished thru my childhood years with my Dad, and just thru life circumstances, had to give it up for a few years. I got back into it hard a couple years ago, and have loved every moment. The time spent on the water, whether its solo, with my Dad, my wife, or any friend, is unforgettable. We may not have giant largemouth bass up here in Ontario, but our fat smallmouth are worth the trip here! I'm still seeking my first five pounder, hopefully 2018! Cheers all!

Vexan Rods?
Hey everyone - first time poster here. I searched around to see if there was much info for vexan rods on here and didn't have much luck. I'm looking at a 7 foot MH XF, and wondered if anyone out there owns this rod? Just curious if the XF on this rod will be suitable for walk the dog baits, jerkbaits, wacky worms. I've played around with a St Croix XF and liked it, and wonder if the tip on the Vexan is similar. I have some Tackle Industries musky rods and love those, and I'd like to buy Vexan rods to continue to support James at Tackle Industries/Vexan. I have to order these rods online so I don't get to try them out before I buy. Any help is much appreciated!
