I actually had to go to a seminar a week ago by this guy whose renowned for his study on global warming (Dr. Greij) I think it was *spelling not sure. Anyways he gave some pretty solid proof that global warming is becoming a problem... one example i remember he gave was Polar Bear cubs not being able to swim back to the ice caps because the gap is getting so much larger... Just an interesting tid bit. I think we need to consider these types of issues as they will not only affect "us" but the creatures we share the planet with and...hunt...fish and other things we love to do. I'd like my kids to be able to do the same cool stuff. To answer the question of what medicines come from plants: Morphine comes from poppies Asprin comes from the bark of willow trees digoxin comes from foxgloves "Some 120 prescription drugs sold worldwide today are derived directly from rainforest plants. And according to the U.S. National Cancer Institute, more than two-thirds of all medicines found to have cancer-fighting properties come from rainforest plants. Examples abound. Ingredients obtained and synthesized from a now-extinct periwinkle plant found only in Madagascar (until deforestation wiped it out) have increased the chances of survival for children with leukemia from 20 percent to 80 percent. Some of the compounds in rainforest plants are also used to treat malaria, heart disease, bronchitis, hypertension, rheumatism, diabetes, muscle tension, arthritis, glaucoma, dysentery and tuberculosis, among other health problems. And many commercially available anesthetics, enzymes, hormones, laxatives, cough mixtures, antibiotics and antiseptics are also derived from rainforest plants and herbs." 14. Hey fellas, havn't been around much lately... however i managed to pick up great way to pass some time (for us northern folk who can't fish cept on the ice). Went pheasant huntin for the first time bout 3 weeks ago and LOVED it. Got to use a buddy of mines Over and under and i was knockin' em otta the sky quite nicely. Went and picked one up for myself and we went again last weekend and went like 33 for 35 or somthin like that. (Put in take in Rothberry Michigan) Just thought i'd let you guys know i'm pretty geeked about the whole deal! : ) It was also the first time i hunted with dogs, which was also pretty amazing. 18. Here Yee, Went out this weekend in the middle of the day this weekend, water was pretty warm for West Michigan. Nothin was really goin so i decided to strap on a lipless I bought when i went to guntersville last year. Slammed 3 in a row! I've spent a lot of time with lipless cranks such as rattlers and all but havn't had success except for saturday. I found that most of my fish came on the fall... Is this typical for you guys? I've been ''burnin'' it pretty fast too, how fast is too fast for these things? and how often do you guys turn to a lipless... i've just been using em in deeper water in hot weather. Any tips are greatly appreciated. prayers for all on Sept. 11

  24. in response to an earlier post about americans hating the pit. Fact of the matter is that the Pit is a dog of stereotype. Often times found in slums with little to no training and thought to be a mindless rabid freak. Often the dog of choice for illegal fighting/gambling...or guard dogging due to their smaller stature yet very muscular build. The pit bull is a product of its environment no different than a child.... if it raised properly it can be the greatest dog you could have, or the meanest kid on block. This is a relevant use of tax dollars because it spotlights everyone involved and gets this b.s. off the field and otta the slumbs.
