hey fellas, I've got a sort of braggin rights tourny this coming saturday on a little lake in West michigan. I'll be fishing clear water. There is a few down trees all along the edges that don't protrude much past 3-4 ft deep. The bottom is weird in that it starts off sorta like beach sand and then turns to MUCK. (endless muck) There is a lot of good weed cover to be had but it's fished a LOT. Any tips and or secret weapons will be appreciated Nater

Alright fellas, Went back out last night and tried feeling the weight before setting the hook... and i landed 2 nice fish on some of those Spro frogs. I had a few other bits but sometimes the fish seem to poke at it and not whole heartedly want it. Thanks for the advice guys!

Glad to hear ur exitement. This summer has been my first with a baitcaster as well... I'm getting a lot better but the only advice I can give you is keep on truckin, the headaches will pay off when you cast under a dock with a 1 inch over hang!... or so i hear

Hey guys, I was fishing last night and I was throwing an Albino Mouse for most of the night. I had a about 10 or more nice explosions ... but no hook ups. Any suggestions for luggin those things out of the lilly pads while still giving ample hook set time?... by the end of the night i was wishing i had an ugly stik with 50 lb braid!

Slow times for me have been great opportunities to try stuff i'm not as good at. Havn't found time to do any top-water untill this past weekend and got some great fish this weekend.

Hey Rolo, What about northern states like Michigan, i was out the other night and landed a 4 lber, which dosn't seem frequent (at least for me). I've seen bass that easy clear 4 lbs, but is it possible that really large bass are scarce due to a longer period of cold?

This is crazy because i went to my first major league game yesterday the 22nd for my 20th birthday. My girlfriend bought us like 2nd row tickets by the fowl post (we were in comerica park in detroit watching the tigers) and I CAUGHT A FLY BALL ON MY BIRTHDAY! It was on t.v. and i took it right out of gurrero's glove (outfielder for the angels) some of you fans may have seen me on t.v.!

I don't know about you fellas but when i take my girl out fishin, it's somethin else. I spend a lot more time talkin and tien' more knots than i normally would and she ALWAYS outfishes me! We went out this weekend with her parents and we were throwin some YUM smoke 'n pearl worms and Kreature baits and she slammed like an 18 inch female full of eggs all fat and what not. But i must admit the smile on her face when she caught that fish was a sight in itself. She of cource has bragging rights forever now, but i assure her that it'll be different next time... but i really just like how she has fun doing what i love so much, anybody elses lady fun to fish with?

It's funny that you guys bring this up because I was fishin on the Grand River here in Michigan about a week or so ago and some buddies and I decided to trie to catch some cats after a hard day of bassin. Well we used some stink bait over a treble hook and SLAMMED 'em. Some of those fish we caught were easy over 10 lbs.... there always a fun fight anyway.

I'd try to come up with some wise words for ya but I'm in the same Boat! The big G... leavin tomarrow!

Every time i open my BPS catalog i see those things and get really close to ordering some but never do. I've never used one... i guess i'm Dutch ;D. Anywho, does anybody use the "pointer" that tail looks really *** to me... i think i'm going to buy one. What should i go with? (generally not very clear water)

I fished the chatter last summer quite a bit, i was hesitant to pay the 6$ plus price tag. I cought a few Michigan bass on it, and quite a few Pike. The pike tear it all to pieces so they just sit in the box unless my usuals arn't working.

I agree with that last statement. I also tried some of those eagle claws last summer and was NOT impressed. I've heard of this in conjunction with Cajun Red Line... which i know nothing of. I'd say there is no diff IMO as well.
