GRASS SEED
Zoysia/Bermuda Blend Loves sun and will put up with a little shade. Doesn't require too much water and is as thick as a wool carpet! Withstands a lot of foot traffic and abuse. Rated by me, 10/10. 8-)

Kistler, Dobyns, Falcon
You should get plenty of response, all three have a pretty good following. I have a Dobyns Champion Series 683C matched up with a CH50MG. It is the only split grip I own and by far the lightest rod, too. The rod is very sensitive and strong. My only issue is no-name guides, but that has not been a problem so far. Otherwise, if split grip is your thing, this might be just what you are looking for. As a matter of fact, if you decide on the Dolbyns, we might make a deal. I don't think split grip is for me. http://www.***.com/descpageDCASTROD-DCCT.html 8-)

Surprised you haven't had a response, but just be patient. -Kent

Hello, from Wheeler Lake in North Alabama
Welcome aboard! Start a thread in the Rod, Reel & Line section and give us a budget or just go back through that section for tons of advice. My #1 suggestion is to hire a Wheeler guide for a day. Go with your dad and don't take the kids on this trip. You will learn more in a day than an entire season fishing on your own. 8-)

Line Twist With a Baitcaster?
"Memory" or coiling can be confused with twist. It will go away after fishing the line for awhile. At any rate, fresh line is probably the best option. 8-)

IMPORTANT!
I am not a lure builder, but I know how a fly is made. You see, sometimes a female fly and a male fly meet on the same pile of dog crap. They talk, share some feces and eventually one thing leads to another.... A couple days later, a fly is born. Simple really....

You're Invited to the 5th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
Lodging accommodations are left up to individuals, so I don't believe that would be a problem. The registration covers meals and gift pack. Hope to see you there. Have your buddy join the club! As you know, it's free! The $50 is for Wednesday's banquet and some other expenses. The goodie bag and other sponsor gifts more than cover the sign-up fee. Additionally, you will have an opportunity to participate in a charity raffle with big prizes. Lodging is YOUR responsibility and you can stay anywhere. We have reserved rooms and cabins for the gang, but everyone makes their own reservations. Hope to see you there! 8-)

Maybe for some, but not for others. I'm part of the "some". All my G. Loomis are GLX. 8-)

Stock Trading Online
That's some good advice. I have never know a day trader who has made money over time. Generally, they start with $50-$100k and stop trading when it's all gone or after they put in an additional 10 or 20K! 8-)

My own odd fishing habit. Do I need to work to correct it?

Thousand Islands
I know that's true, but for those of us that haven't had the privilege of fishing in the region, it's just hard to imagine catching that many smallmouth in one outing. I will fish the Tennesse River from October through March and will not come close to 100 brown fish, total!

Larger spinnerbaits
Take a peek at the Ledgebuster 3/4 & 1 oz Single Willow Blade, too. 8-)

How does a pro know when it's time to end a career?
Rick Clunn is the perfect example. He may not be as successful winning tournaments anymore, but he still keeps his name in the spotlight. All the big names make their real money through sponsorship, not tournament winnings. 8-)

Fishing the Filamentous, algea/whats your method of fishing this
Rage Tail Shad is the answer. http://www.ragetail.com/ Now, what's the question?

Zebco reel question ????
I don't know, but for an occasional fisherman there are WAY too many issues with braid. Just clipping a tag- end is a deal stopper! Get him an Omega and use the line that comes with it. Otherwise, spool up some Trilene #8 XL and all will be well. 8-)

Need new crankin rod an reel
Combination packages from the big retailers are the best value and often on sale. Focus on the reel. I recommend the Shimano Citica with whatever Cabela's or BPS matches it up with. Something like this: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_102965_100003000_100000000_100003000_100-3-0 The rods can usually be swapped within the brand. For cranking get a Medium Heavy Power/ Moderate Action rod. NEVER pay retail! The retailers rotate their sale items, but these combinations are always on sale sometime during the year. 8-)

How to cast a baitcaster... not what you think
The problem is light lures vs. the range of your rod & reel. Use your spinning tackle for the light stuff and your baitcaster for 1/2 oz and up. 8-)
