  1. Every aspect of the "Senko" and other stick baits is referenced in the upper portion of the first page of this section: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1121527643 This thread is closed -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  2. The question has been answered and the rant addressed. Let's move on. Good night Irene -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  3. Plant both pieces and maybe they will grow into new ones! :
  4. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  5. Only 10 years? Man, that really sucks! You better check it again in 2019.
  6. The only thing I can add is give the 6 1/2" Kahuna a try, too! http://***/cgi-bin/order/7X-10?r6r3QH2y;;149 8-)
  7. You're OWNED buddy! Great pics! 8-)
  8. Unless a reel has limited capacity (CH50MG), about the only time I totally respool is when the reel is brand new! Bass fishing doesn't require more than 80-100 yards of line and I like all my reels "full". So, I "tie on" quite frequently. I use a Blood Knot: http://www.animatedknots.com/bloodknot/index.php?LogoImage=LogoGrog.jpg&Website=www.animatedknots.com#Bachmann 8-)
  9. Ultra-light rigs are for crappie, stocker trout, white bass and bream, not bass. 8-)
  10. 6" Senko or Fat Ika in water <12' deep. In deeper water, Mizmo 5 1/2" Grandes. 8-)
  11. Browse through the last 20 pages or so of this section. Rage Tail products were the "hot topic" for June. The 10" Anaconda is still my favorite, but there are several threads on all the new baits. 8-)
  12. Tape or backing is the ticket. Otherwise, braid will sometimes slip. Plus, there is no reason to waste all the braid needed to fill a spool. 80 or at most, 100 yards is plenty. 8-)
  13. No, it wasn't meant to be...pronounced: Hey You!
  14. I have fished with CJ in his Legend on several occasions. The only thing I didn't like was speed...It's WAY too fast for my taste! My fishing partner has a BayRanger 2108, now replaced by the 2200 Top speed is about 47 mph and it rides like a couch on an aircraft carrier. http://www.rangerboats.com/flash/gallery.cfm?mid=5526&gid=38 8-)
  15. BACK ON TOPIC: Good night Irene -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  16. For spinning gear I recommend focusing on the reel. Buy any "in-house" combination from a big retailer ON SALE that includes a Shimano Symetre 2500 FJ. 8-)

    Welcome aboard! 8-)
  20. I take extremely good care of my equipment, but accidents happen. The G. Loomis warranty eliminates any worries about actually "using" their equipment. Regarding the quality of high-end rods vs. custom made, that probably depends on the builder! Custom may be better, but "production rods" are consistent. I have a few GLX, all of which provide 100% satisfaction. I can't comment on Steez vs. G. Loomis GLX except to say, it just doesn't seem right to saddle a Steez up with a Shimano reel. That's a non-starter for me! :
  21. JJ's Magic is sold online only, through their website: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/bass-fishing-jjs-magic.html MegaStrike can be purchased from a variety of retailers, in store or online. 8-)
  22. Try a 3/4 oz Ledgebuster Single Willow Blade spinnerbait. Cast out over or just beyond structure and allow the lure to fall to the bottom. Lift the Ledgebuster with your rod from water level to 12:00, then fall on slack line. Repeat back to the boat . You want the lure to flutter down like it's dead, NOT moving forward. Be careful. This is a big bass lure and you might get your arm broken or be jerked out of the boat! Good luck! 8-)
  23. Smallmouth bass relate to structure and current breaks. Standard lures are 3 1/2" Gitzits, Single Tail Grubs, Hula Grubs. In low light try topwater (Sammy or Spook) and jerkbaits (X-Rap, Pointer or Husky Jerk). BTW, Your avatar REALLY turns me off and I'm sure most of our guys find it disturbing. We support resource management which often means removing small fish, but for the most part, BassResource.com encourages Catch & Release. 8-)
  24. Sometimes having exactly the right color can be important, but generally watermelon and green pumpkin are colors you can count on. I'm also a big fan of any combination of black & blue! 8-)
