  1. Well, I hate the storms for you, but a hurricane would be good for the middle of the country about now. We need something to break up the current configuration. Our last drought lasted three years and ended two years ago. Still, we need this current stationary weather pattern to be broken down soon. :-X
  2. Hunting in the South, very rarely and usually only on opening day. In Colorado my group was checked almost every outing because the Wildlife Officers had prior problems with clubs sharing licenses. On the Tennessee River the TWRA is very active near the dam where we fish. However, we have gotten to know the officers and they usually just come by to chat. Occasionally, the regulars get a new "boss in training" and we have to go through the whole deal, but that's fine. Overall, I would like to see a greater presence. 8-)
  3. There are some beautiful fish on this thread, but this is my favorite:

  8. Nope, but I will give 'em a try. I have always used Gamakatsu 5/0 Offset Round Bend for the Swimming Senko. 8-)
  9. No, I don't think so or just don't remember this discussion. However, your explanation makes perfect sense to me. I appreciate the clarification. "Pound Test" vs "Average breaking strength" http://www.yo-zuri.com/Products/ProdLine/HybridLineChart.htm BTW, I fished P-line for several years and consistently recommend it as well as Gamma and Sunline Shooter Defier as alternatives to Yo-Zuri Hybrid. 8-)
  10. Well, you already know what I think the line should be, but whatever you chose just set the drag a little bit lighter than perfect and things will be fine. Regarding lures, I'm with Raul: cast and retrieve is way more fun for beginners than cast and wait. The Rage Tail Shad and Cavitron Buzzbait are some other suggestions. I think the 7" Anaconda is another using a slow, steady retrieve. 8-)
  11. P-Line rates themselves 40% stronger that the stated "pound test:. #6 CXX is approximately 8.4 lb breaking strength according to the manufacturer. Yo-Zuri Hybrid #6 is 11.9 lb test. Test both lines for yourself with a scale. These numbers will be very close to your test results. BTW, Hybrid #4 = 8.5 breaking strength or about the same as CXX #6. 8-)
  12. Good luck! But...I would never waste a minute fishing for green trout when brown fish are an option, especially in your neck of the woods. 8-)
  13. Check the Flea Market, fishfordollars can get you one for $145 delivered.
  14. K.I.S.S. Spinning tackle: Yo-Zuri Hybrid or Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 (.010" diameter, 11.9 lb test). Baitcasting gear: Hybrid or Hybrid Ultra Soft #12 (.013" diameter, 19.5 lb test) 8-)
  15. Post a WTB in our Flea Market. I bought a Curado 200 E7 NIB a couple of weeks ago for $150 delivered. 8-)
  16. I have been fishing Gamakatsu for 12 years without an issue of any kind. I also picked up some XPoints a few years ago and REALLY liked them, too. Our local Sportsmen's Warehouse recently went out of business and I picked up some Owners, two 25 packs for $10!!!!! Owners are great, but I bought the heavy gauge 5/0 EWG Offset Worm Hooks which have limited application for me. I guess I will be fishing these occasionally for the next decade! 8-)

Sounds good to me. I didn't get a bite last weekend!
