  1. Well, I guarantee I will never buy another soft plastic that I already own this decade..Unless it's on sale.
  2. Congratulations! "Back in the day'" the standard was bench pressing your weight. 8-)
  3. Well, I won't repost on this thread and I'm not trying to beat you down, BUT the fact is, you DO NEED A FANCY ROD and sensitivity DOES have EVERYTHING to do with it. 8-)
  4. Hmm... One of the other Moderators will pick this up later. I'm not the tech guy...
  5. When this came up a year ago or so, Jim Duckworth joined the Forum for one post. Re: Float N' Fly Dec 23rd 2007 Post by jim duckworth The float and fly method is best for water temps below 50 degrees and is best suited for highland reservoirs and requires a minumum of 8 foot of visibility. A weighted 1 inch fixed float is a must because the best size of flys are 1\16 and 1\32 and in cold air your line doesn't slide thru slip bobbers well and you don't get the good shaking motion that is needed on calm water days. I have boated 50 smallies over 5LB's at least every winter with this method and it is great on cloudy days but if the sun is shining it is not good. A 8 foot rod is perfect and you can't get by with shorter but you don't need longer, normal float setting is 8-10 foot above the fly. Jim Duckworth
  6. There are a few things, other than target practice, that lawyers are good for and this is one of them. Spend a little money up front on the closing rather than a whole bunch later if a problem pops up. 8-)
  7. I've been having a little luck lately: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1234198129/0 8-)
  8. Wait a minute... You "learned how to do it"? Fished all day, caught one fish and missed a few? Now you know what equipment is needed and what is not? And it wasn't B-O-R-I-N-G? Dude! You're not making any sense. :
  9. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  10. http://www.ragetail.com/ Just above this section, below "swimbaits" and "topwater" is a link, "view all sponsors". Click there and it will take you to another page where you can click on everyone.
  11. NEVER not under any circumstance. I bought a couple packs of circle hooks for smallmouth fishing, 99 cents on sale vs Gammies for about $2.50. Broke the first hook and threw the rest away! "Won't Get Fooled again" >
  12. On a Senko? That's hard to believe... :
  13. When in doubt, a Rat-L-Trap type lure is always the answer. Maybe it's not always the best choice, but if you happen to run it close to a fish, there is a chance to get bit. 8-)
  14. Follow-up: I didn't mean to be so negative. As you read in the referenced post, I've sold houses FSBO, but that was another time and place. Good luck to you, I hope you are able to sell the house yourself. -Kent
  15. Well now, that's a lot of Anacondas! For those that complain about soft GYCB products, you'll really be impressed with this bait. I fished the 10" quite a bit late summer and fall. The only reason for using another is when the first is lost. I have yet to wear a bait out. Maybe that will happen with toothy critters, but not bass. 8-)
  16. Ah....The market sucks! This is not the time to try selling a house on your own, you need traffic.
  17. Not in this case. the formula(s) were changed and the line is much stronger now. When I purchased the TripleFish fluorocarbon it was unfishable, I broke it (#4) by hand tying a knot.
  18. Alternative suggestion for gin clear water: Original Yo-Zuri Hybrid #4 is 8.5 lb test line. Buy the green line which matches crystal clear water almost perfectly. The line is strong, tough and manageable. Treat it with KVD Line & Lure Conditioner and you can forget about fluorocarbon. 8-)
  19. There are some guides, especially at Dale Hollow, that have good luck with this technique. However, I think most people will find the production low and boredom high.
  20. Fluorocarbon on spinning tackle is a challenge. If you have the wallet, Sunline Shooter is recommended by a few guys I know. However, I have not actually fished this line: http://www.***.com/descpageLNESUNLINE-SLSHF.html Fluoros I have fished, sucked. These include Vanish, P-Line Floroclear, P-Line CX Premium, Triple Fish, Gamma, and some others I don't recall. I haven't found one I like for a mainline. 8-)
  21. Well, several years ago I tried light weight (#4 & #6) Triple Fish Flourocarbon and through it away. Test it thoroughly before throwing anything important. :
  22. I own the EC70MHF. You made a great purchase and will love the rod. Unfortunately, you will find it very hard (impossible) to go back! You have entered the Dark Side. 8-)
  23. Tennessee smallmouth are attracted by the taste of tobacco and beer. Never wash it off or cover it up.
  24. This year's Roadtrip is to Kentucky Lake. Everything there is to know will be posted on that thread as we get closer, during the trip and when we get back. 8-)
  25. Do a lot of c-rigging there in the TN river, do ya? : Nope, but I spend some time on Pickwick Lake and a few hours each week fishing local ponds. If I fished tough vegetation, I would consider adding braid to the equation, but that doesn't come into play on my usual water. :
