Well, you can Google a technical definition, but as it applies to fishing line, co-polymer is a blend of different formulated strings. Most co-polymers combine two or more nylons. Yo- Zuri Hybrid is a bonded fluorocarbon/ nylon combination. Generally, co-polymers are stronger for a given diameter of line. They tend to be highly abrasion resistant and have high tensile strength. Visibilty varies, but it is comparable to monofilament or less. Popular brands include P-Line CXX, Gamma and Yo-Zuri Hybrid, but there are many others. 8-)

I wish I could recall his name, but one of the pros interviewed during the Classic made a comment along these lines: "To have any chance of being #1 you must be willing to gamble. That means the possibility of going from #2 to #11 or even worse."

The Banjo Minnow will produce bites when almost anything else would be a better choice. A well known alternative is the Slug-Go (flukes). 8-)

I bought the first run directly from Ray Scott, along with his custom rod. It sucked, big time! The spool had rough spots that were noticeable on retrieve; the weight of the reel was heavy and disproportional; and the spool held WAY too much light line. At the time they were "Made In The USA", St. Louis as I recall. Maybe the machining has been improved since manufacturing was moved off-shore, but I won't be buying another any time soon. >

It's both profile and action. Fished on the bottom, dragged or hopped, it imitates a crawdad. Fished with an inserted weight or jig head, the tube represents a dying baitfish as it twirls on the fall. The original Gitzit was actually designed as a "do nothing" bait, laying motionless on the bottom or fished while drifting with the wind. My theory is, the boys from Arkansas created another excuse to drink beer! 8-)
