  1. I think all LC hooks are VMC. 8-)
  2. Everything except walleye and often on the Tennessee River. I could add largemouth bass, blue and flathead catfish, buffalo, bream, skipjack and gar to the list, all on a single outing. When you fish Kentucky Lake in April, you will get a taste of exactly what I'm talking about. The worst is drum, the most common is white bass. 8-)
  3. The reel is very important. Without a quality reel, baitcasting can be very challenging. This is where it starts: http://www.deloscustomtackleshack.com/reels/shimanocitaca_200e.html 8-)
  4. We must live on different planets. I'm not sure a Memphis Tiger basketball player has ever graduated, certainly none of the stars in recent years. Being a small college in a nothin' conference means recruiting guys from junior colleges that can't read, write or speak anything resembling The King's English! If "good athletes are a dime a dozen" we'll take a dollar's worth. ___________________________________ Back on topic...
  5. "MAN OF THE YEAR"
  6. I have the Lamiglas SR705R which I consider THE BOMB! for deep water cranking and other big treble hook lures. 8-)
  7. Hurry! Get your shots in fast, I hear The Fat Lady warming up! -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior
  8. Why not just send them to Shimano? I would just like to send a little biz to J Francho. 8-)
  9. Some are, it varies from rod to rod and among manufacturers. My soft plastics rod is a St. Croix ES70MF spinning rod. The Power is comparable to MH G. Loomis. The Action is rated Fast and it is. The tip in this rod is firm, maybe extra firm. By contrast, my "all-around" treble hook rod and dedicated jerkbait rod is a AVC66MF baitcaster. The Action is Fast, but the tip is soft. I find this perfect for working topwater, too! 8-)
  10. This is how I roll: One application to soft plastics, no hard baits and keep if off jig and spinnerbait skirts. No need to waste it on Uncle Josh Pork, either. p.s. To Bobby: When MegaStrike wears off your soft plastic, it's time to change baits! 8-)
  11. I have the original Mattlures Bluegill (female) which I have yet to fish. How, when and where do you suggest fishing this lure? 8-)
  12. Spend some time in the BassResource.com Library, "Fishing Articles" and "Tacklebox" at the top of the page. This will get you started: http://www.bassresource.com/fish/spinnerbaits.html 8-)
  13. Gotta do this every couple of months... Red hook strike improvement rating: -0- 8-)
  14. What are you going to do when you hook up with one of those babies weighing 300 lbs? Now that you know there are sturgeon where you are fishing, you might want to get a hold of Fish_Chris and find out how to fish for them. The big ones are a ball and the smaller ones are very tasty. Fish described the flavor and texture as resembling pork chops. Check it out! 8-)
  15. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  16. We have members who haven't had much success with Senkos or Fat Ika, why would the Anaconda be any different? Big O told me when I commented the first time about this bait being a "big fish lure" that I was wrong, it attracts tournament bass, too. Well, for me that isn't true for the most part. I haven't caught many (any) bass under 4 lbs on this bait. So, like anything else, most will like it, some will not. 8-)
  17. I have tried them and similar string or cord weights without any noticeable improvement in a river environment. Two thumbs down!
  18. No, but at Guntersville last year I caught three bass on five casts. It was my lure on the Roadtrip last year. 8-)
  19. Well keep practicing on the Floogers... When you get caught up, I want to have two Stella 2500FB and one 1000FA serviced. However, I need them back before April 1st or I'll send them in after the BR Roadtrip. I don't think they really "need" service, but I just feel better when I know they are being maintained on a regular schedule. One question: I have a 2500 Sustain that doesn't have much calibration when the drag is properly set, it's kinda like on or off. Does that sound like dried out pads, something else or nothing I need to be concerned with? I had it serviced a year or more ago, but I rarely (never) use it and just notice the lack of "range" when I'm playing with it, not fishing. 8-)
  20. The fact that Yo-Zuri doesn't sink has no impact what-so-ever on any bait, lure or presentation. It "floats" due to surface tension, it is not buoyant like a PFD. 8-)
  21. If you like the Hybrid, it can be used for all techniques. 8-)
  22. J Francho might know a little about this... :
  23. Man, that sounds great! I hope you have a good turnout and succesful event. -Kent
