Attractant Part Two
Lather up a GYCB Fat Ika and pop it in your mouth. Chew it a time or two and spit the whole thing out. You'll be surprised, it's pretty tasty! 8-)

Oil Prices Plunge!
Avid has made a very good point. A steep price of oil will provide the impetus needed for the development of alternative energy. Boone Pickens, a VERY wealthy oil man, has seen the handwriting on the wall and is investing tens of millions in the development of wind energy. One source of energy that Avid omitted is Natural Gas. To the best of my recollection, we have enough to last at least a hundred years. Despite the pain I feel at the pump, I'm very gratified to see that the Nitwits (our elected officials) are finally beginning to get off their butts and recognize that to do nothing is no longer an option. Maybe, in my lifetime, we will have coherent energy policy that incorporates all available options. Geez... I didn't know Paris Hilton was a Rocket Scientist... "Driil for oil to meet our short-term needs while developing alternative energy sources for the long-term." I am so sick and tired of "DO-NOTHING" politicians. We have plenty of resources, it's time to focus our national priorities and use them: Virtually unlimited shale oil reserves in the Rocky Mountain States More coal than all of the rest of the world's total energy potential Untapped oil on the continental shelf Alaska And the end-all...nuclear power Let's require these slugs that took a five week "summer break" to actually do something to address the issue. The energy challenge requires a concentrated effort to resolve: FIX IT NOW! We have the resources, let's use them. >

Can I catch a DD in the water's I fish??
The State Record is 14 lbs 12 oz (1991). There is a chance you can catch a 10+, but that's a prize in most states. The likelihood of landing one yourself in Indiana is small. To improve your odds, Texas, Georgia. Florida and California are the best options. Specifically, Stick Marsh/ Farm 13 (FL), Falcon, Amistad, Toledo Bend (TX) and Varner (GA) are probably your best bets for public lakes. 8-)

Rage Tail 10" Anaconda

11 days fishing-Only 7 bass??
When bass are baitfish orientated, soft plastic don't work. I have no idea why you didn't switch to something else. Jerkbaits or some other lipless crankbait would probably be the answer. A Slug-Go, Floating Rogue, Norman Fat Boy or Countdown Rapala might have been a better choice. 8-)

Some Allegheny River Smallies
Beautiful fish, nice pics! 8-)

GY kreature bait
I don't think other creature baits are designed to be fished like a spinnerbait or swimming jig. The forward skirt, flapping double tail, full profile and slow sink rate make this a more unique bait. The comparable GYCB "creature" bait would be the Flappin' Hog, not the Kreature! 8-)

Lure Strategy
Welcome aboard! I would start with topwater, then try a jerkbait before moving to soft plastics. 8-)

braided line for finesse fishing
Nope, not me. 8-)
-
spiderwire
Yes. Line visibility is not an issue most of the time, especially with "moving lures". However, sometimes it is importnat, more so in crystal clear water and with finesse techniques. You can still use braid as your mainline, but add a fluorocarbon leader. BTW, Welcome aboard! 8-)

A "Pretty Nice Fish?" :

Rage Tail 10" Anaconda
No, I haven't tried anything else unless you count the relatively short retrieve when I feel I'm "out of the zone". I'm sure other techniques would work, but I fish most soft plastics slow and on the bottom. Grubs and Kreatures are about the only exceptions. 8-)
