  1. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  2. You should pay attention to suggestions offered on the Forum. #14 Gamma has NEVER been recommended to my knowledge. However, if you are spooling this up on a baitcaster, it will be fine. :
  3. I have a STX, my one and only Abu Garcia. I would wait on the new Curado. 8-)
  4. Spinning tackle: Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 (.010" diameter, 11.9 lb test) Baitcasting gear: Ultra Soft #12 (.013" diameter, 19.5 lb test) I have never been broken off by a fish using these lines. 8-)
  5. Regarding Toyota: GM, Ford and Chrysler are insolvent. In a different political environment, bankrupt. Toyoto is the only car company competing and sponsoring NASCAR that actually makes money. 8-)
  6. The "intrinsic value" is probably $35-$50, but we'll be Happy Campers in the $60 - $80 range. 8-)
  7. That's why I don't post too many pictures. 8-)
  8. This year has been a struggle on the circuit, but the last three weeks have been dreadful. I guess The Car of Tomorrow and Goodyear Tire have been the biggest issues, but the whole season has been boring for the most part. After Indianappolis, I thought I was done, but I ended up watching or listening to the last two races which have been just about as bad. Does anybody have something positive to say? I would like to regain some enthusiasm, but it's just not there. I don't know whether I can get excited for The Chase, are you? :-/
  9. Down another 73 cents @ $114.47. At one pont today, oil had dropped more than $2.00.
  10. That's the point: BASS knew or should have know exactly what to expect. Heck, I came pretty close to the actual total weight and predicted the lowest total weight to ever be recorded. As a smallmouth river fisherman, I know a little bit about commercial rivers experiencing a drought in the middle of the summer! Rick Clunn, just as one example, didn't catch a fish. Does that mean he can't fish or just can't compete anymore? Challenging is one thing, impossibly slow is another. I admit I'm not a big fan, but for anyone else that might be casually interested in following the professional circuits, these types of events are a complete turn-off. (Kinda like NASCAR right now). :
  11. C'mon, catchin' bait under a bridge doesn't cut it for a championship shootout. Wow! Four 12 oz "keepers" and a 18 oz "kicker"! Man, that sucks.
  12. Lift and drop with extended pauses. Initially, the 10" Anaconda makes a big splash which might attract some attention, so I let it sit on the bottom for at least 30 seconds, maybe a minute. After taking up slack, I raise the rod slowly from water level to about 10 o'clock, then let the bait fall on slack line. I then take up slack and raise the rod from water level to 1 o'clock, then fall on slack line. After these two movements, I let it sit for a minute or so, then repeat. Like any other worms or soft plastics, working the bait is only limited by your imagination! 8-)
  13. Great post! I have never heard of this technique, way to go! 8-)
  14. Send Raul a PM, he has experience with all aspects of aquarium maintenance. Good luck! 8-)
  15. No, not unless it's supported by lilly pads or thick moss. The Anaconda is a monster! 8-)
  16. Green Pumpkin with black flakes. I'm not saying small bass won't attack big baits, but there is an advantage of getting past the little guys, sometimes. BTW, I will post something on the 7" when I run out of the 10" Anaconda. I have not fished the smaller version, yet. 8-)
  17. Man, great fish and some BEEutiful gear! 8-)
  18. I think that's probably close, but a little on the high side. The combined weight would not reach 7 lbs. 8-)
  19. Great pic! 8-)
  20. Thank you. Thank you very much... Elvis has left the building.
  21. I just started fishing this big bait a few weeks ago. When they become available, all Big Bass Boys need to pick up a few bags. This is a soft plastic that will never produce numbers, it's intimidating! For those focused on big fish, this is going to be one of your "go to" baits. I have only caught ten bass fishing the Anacoda for a total of around six hours, but only one was a "tournament bass", the rest were nice fish! 8-)
