  1. My approach is "modified deadsticking": I fish the Slug-Go (fluke) as a feeding minnow with very little forward movement. When I do move it forward, I then leave it in one spot again and twitch the bait repeatedly to immitate baitfish concentrating on a very small area. 8-)
  2. I guess I can't tell whether you are kidding or not... The Fat Ika ranks either #1 or #2 as the biggest bass producer I have ever fished, both for size and numbers. 8-)
  3. Read through the threads in this section. Many of our members are sponsored and many are sponsors! There is some great advice offered by a number of guys. 8-)
  4. I fish both spinning and baitcasting gear. I like them equally, but have a strong preference for one over the other for certain techniques: Spinning tackle: finesse fishing Baitcasting gear: power fishing I also prefer a baitcaster for all fast moving presentations. 8-)
  5. Wow! This thread really surprised me, I thought everyone that fished Lake Erie targeted smallmouth. It never occurred to me that people caught green fish, too. Nice pics! 8-)
  6. Sumptin's wrong... I have spent some time in Wisconsin and those girls should have definitely made the "Top Ten". :
  7. Hmm... Seems like a good suggestion to me, too! 8-)
  8. I have been competing in the World Championship BBQ Contest, Memphis in May, since 1997. My best two finishes in "Sauce" were 1st one year (2004) and third in 2006. That said, my favorite sauce is Gates BBQ Sauce out of Kansas City: http://www.gatesbbq.com/ 8-)
  9. No, but it's all about fun. If you aren't having any, do something different. Maybe next April you will attend the BassResource 4th Annual Roadtrip at Kentucky Lake. Hope to meet you there. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior 8-) 8-)
  10. 2 -2 1/2 lbs. It takes something that "looks like a 5" to get to 3 lbs. 8-)
  11. Jigs and soft plastics have always been the best producers of big bass, although that is being challenged these days with the swimbait craze. I'm having some luck with big worms and 1/2 oz jigs fished slow and deep right now. 8-)
  12. Well, Michigan came in tenth: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,406921,00.html :
  13. Oil is down $1.22 @ $113.31 8-)
  14. ** MODERATOR NOTE ** This thread has been edited. If there is any thread you are not interested in, simply move on... -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  15. Hunting fatalities are very rare. You have a much greater chance of being struck by lightening than being shot by another hunter. “When wildlife officers investigate hunting accidents, it is typical to find a violation of one or more of the cardinal safety rules. Comparisons to other sports and outdoors-related injuries through data compiled by the National Safety Council shows hunting is one of the safest recreational pursuits enjoyed in the United States." 8-)
  16. Well, as you can see, there are lots of options at your pricing point. There probably is no "best", everyone has a "favorite". 8-)
  17. Gamakatsu or XPoint 4/0 EWG Offset Worm Hook. 8-)
  18. Youth is wasted on the young! 8-)
  19. Well, this comment is a little off topic, but I don't hunt by myself and would discourage anyone, at any age, from being out on their own. Having a partner(s) increases your overall saftey about 1000%. 8-)
  20. : Where have you been? Looks like we might be having a party up your way over Labor Day. Are you going to be around or are you already tied up? -Kent
  21. The 5" Senko is probably the #1 bait/lure for catching the greatest number of bass. With the 6" Senko it has been my experience that I catch fewer bass, but the average size is bigger. However, you will catch both small and large bass with either size. 8-)
  22. I highly recommend scrounging up another $19.95 and getting a Citica E. The_Natural knows a thing or two about equipment, even though he uses the wrong line! :
