  1. I don't fish the 5" Senko, it attracts way too many tournament fish! The 6" version will still be attacked by smaller fish, but I think it helps get by a few. 8-)
  2. Congratulations! Nice fish, great pic! BTW, Weights vary a lot, but 22" is fairly typical for a 5-6 lb largemouth bass. 8-)
  3. Great post! It looks like everything went as planned. Glad to hear about the trip and enjoyed the pics! 8-)
  4. You do not sacrifice sensitivity for power.
  5. That is a commonly held belief, but in fact meanmouth are a smallmouth/ largemouth hybrid. http://www.fishin.com/articles/meanmouth.htm 8-)
  6. Fine fish, nice pic, too! 8-)
  7. Commodity markets are very volatile. We were down overnight to just north of $111, but have turned around throughout the morning session. Currently up $2.88 @ 115.80.
  8. Look through the last twenty pages in this section for several suggestions. 8-)
  9. I thought it looked more like Kedith Richards! :
  10. There is a lot of confusion regarding the hybrid meanmouth. The fish is actually the result of crossbreeding between a largemouth and smallmouth. The few I have caught on the Tennessee River were small and mostly black with subtle markings on the head. http://www.fishin.com/articles/meanmouth.htm 8-)
  11. Here are some other ideas: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1143177139 8-)
  12. Stringers and baskets are for "keeping" fish. 8-)
  13. Crickets and worms for bluegill, small minnows for crappie. 8-)
  14. Geez... When smallmouth are an option I would never waste time with green fish! 8-)
  15. Remarkable... Congratulations! 8-)
  16. I have a Techna AV which is a fine rod, but at their new pricing level, I don't think they are a value. At the pricing point you are looking at, the St. Croix is a better value. Wait a couple of months and the Legend Elite will be on sale, BIG TIME! St. Croix is introducing a new line-up. 8-)
  17. Hmm... The Calcutta are Shimanos, the others are not... :
  18. This varies from state to state. In Tennessee, there is no minimum age to hunt, but Hunters Educations is required at 10: http://www.state.tn.us/twra/huntered.html 8-)
  19. Agreed, but with adult supervison, nine might be old enoungh. My son went "hunting" several times with me when he was eight, carrying an unloaded 22. At nine he got to go on a few more with his unloaded gun. We spent some time target shooting and had a big time. At age ten, we both went through hunter training! Man, that was a great time for sons and dads. That year marked his first trip with a loaded gun. His weapon was a single shot 20 gauge shotgun, but by then he had fired hundreds of rounds, trap shooting. All and all, it was a great experience and as the years have come and gone, my son has become a very skilled outdoorsman. 8-)
  20. You da MAN! 8-)
  21. Nice fish. It looks like you guys had a great time. 8-)
  22. Send a PM to George Welcome and see what he has to say. 8-)
  23. ;D ;D WOO-HOO! ;D ;D Just came across this thread. Congratulations! Great story, fine fish and nice pic. 8-)
  24. Outstanding lure when the bass are aggressive. The quality of this lure is comparable to Lucky Crafts. 8-)
