  1. Well, if your reel holds 100 yards of Fireline, I would use about 110 yards of leader. :
  2. I ran into the Fishing Department Manager of our local BPS yesterday. He told me the Anaconda should be stocked in a couple of weeks. Check with your BPS and see when they will have their allotment. 8-)
  3. Never. I like very soft, soft plastics, lots of salt and scented or not, I still add scent! 8-)
  4. ;D ;D ;D ;D WOO-HOO! ;D ;D ;D ;D Congratulations! 8-)
  5. Welcome aboard! We have many Kistler fans. I'm sure you will have several replies shortly. 8-)
  6. Well, I have been pond jumping lately and am not willing to lose the bluegill! I'm heading up to Kentucky/ Barkley Lakes next weekend, so I'll give it a go fishing out of a boat. Exactly how do you fish this lure? 8-)
  7. Happy Birthday! I have one coming up, but it's my 39th. Been having the same one for about 17 years. :
  8. Well then...I guess they're not "really good rods". :
  9. Thank you! We REALLY appreciate member reviews of our sponsor's products. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator 8-)
  10. Welcome aboard! Here are a few of my favorite threads that might help: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1141187546 http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1196114229 http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1182371999/0 http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1199915688 Good luck! 8-)

  12. How?? With those same needle nose you shouldn't be anywhere close enough to the point to bother it any. http://www.finefishing.com/1freshfish/aahowto/lines,knots,etc/barbless.htm #1 Modern, high quality hooks are chemically sharpenend. Bending the barb has the potential of destroying the physical integrity of the hook point. #2 Fine...In 1984... Just another guy's opinion which I don't agree with. 8-)
  13. Additionally, jigs and soft plastics require a rod with a fast and firm tip. 8-)
  14. Spinning tackle is more versatile for fishing light presentations, even "moving lures". 8-)
  15. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  16. Well, I don't know about all that...It seems to me that a full moon causes a lot of guys to have a hang-over in the morning... :
  17. I always look forward to Bristol racing, under the lights! 8-)
  18. Outstanding! 8-)
  19. Man, I would really like to fish Lake Erie, but I have a question: You guys that live closer can pick your days, but if I come up I need a Plan B. Where can you fish in the neighborhood if the lake is unfishable? (For a sissy like me, that means 3 or 4' waves!) 8-)
  20. Huh? Be careful, bending the barb can destroy the point. I see no reason to do this. Buy some needle nose pliers, learn the technique for extracting deep hooks and you will not have issues. http://www.in-fisherman.com/magazine/articles/if2806_HookRemoval/ 8-)
  21. Well, you might be able to salvage something... I would try to exchange the lures for replacements, they were obviously defective.
  22. Welcome aboard! Yes. Thinner diameter lines tend to "dig" into the spool. I think #12 (.013" diameter) or larger will help a great deal. 8-)
  23. Well, length doesn't mean as much as you might think. The fat fish in my avatar was just over 7 lbs. The other fish is my PB and was nearly 4" longer, but just weighed another pound. 8-)
  24. Excellent post and great advice! 8-)
