  1. So, how did you guys do with the Fat Ika? 8-)
  2. moby bass, Go back and watch the video with bait and hook in hand. Too many people on this Forum are fishing the Rage Tail Shad without issues, you have the bait improperly rigged. :
  3. Okay...I thought I had done that to you guys... :
  4. Oops! I inadvertantly deleted a couple of posts...sorry! Please repost if you like. -Kent
  5. A company's reputation means a lot to me. They are either trustworthy or they are not. There's not much middle ground. 8-)
  6. BUSTED! Did you marinate the STX? You know it needed some work if that happened. :
  7. ** MODERATOR NOTE ** Okay guys, we're WAY off track and just keep rehashing the same off-topic argument. No one's post was deleted or edited, so we'll just leave it here. This thread is closed. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  8. Your favorite color will do. I like green pumpkin with black flakes (297); gp w/ black & red flakes (208); fading watermelon w/ black flakes (194J) and black with blue flakes (021). 8-)
  9. Geez...Let's start another food fight... Everyone has a "favorite" brand of rods, reels and lures. Most guys (which includes me) that fish G. Loomis IMX or GLX will tell you how much they like their equipment. Some of those same guys fish Kistler, Carrots and a number of other brands. I fish (5) St. Croix, (1)Lamiglas, (1) Fenwick Techna AV and two G. Loomis GLX. I think the G. Loomis are that much better. 8-) RW - do you think that they are that much better than you st. croix's? compare the imx's to the avids and the glx to the legend elite. The Avid series is a great, moderately priced rod series. All but one of mine have been purchased on sale for around $100. I think $150 MSRP is about the range where manufactures price what might be considered the beginning of the "high end". The Legend Elite series is priced to be a slight bargin vs. G.Loomis GLX series, but I have found these on super sales, too. Last fall I bought an EC70MHF for just over $200 from Reed's Outdoor Family Outfitters. I feel they are comparable to the Loomis IMX series, not the GLX. St. Croix Avid and LE series use similar, high quality components on par with G. Loomis. Perhaps it's the blanks that make the difference. St. Croix continues to upgrade their offerings with technical improvements that may match or exceed G.Loomis. I have not seen the new Legend Elite in person, but here is what they introduced in Las Vegas: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewicast08rodsstcroix.html 8-)
  10. Big boys line up, little ones bunch up... The big dog's back in town! 8-)
  11. Those fish have never seen the GYCB Fat Ika. In relatively shallow water (twelve feet and less) throw that bait, weightless and weedless. It's THE BOMB! 8-)
  12. Three jigs I HIGHLY recommend: 3/8 oz Evolution Jig 1/2 oz GMAN Jig 1/2 oz Micro Munch Tackle Jig My #1 trailer is the GYCB Flappin' Hog followed closely by the Paca Craw Baby Craw 8-)
  13. #1 Buzzbaits...Fastest retrieve possible in general, but a slow retrieve that can be achieved with a Cavitron also works, sometimes! The Cavitron is a buzzbait that gives you several options, but I still like FAST! #2 I work jigs and soft plastics S...L...O...W and don't think you need a fast retrieve reel. 8-)
  14. I don't know the exact cost, but Fish Chris is as cheap as you are! Whatever he fishes is what you (and I) need. 8-)
  15. Team Depend members from the Midwest might remember Harold Ensley, The Sportsman's Friend. His show ran regionally for 48 years! I use to date his daughter. Before I knew her, he was my hero. 16. I have a completely different take. In addition to reducing hang-ups, full length, heavy weedguards discourage tournament bass. The bigger bass are totally unaware of the guard and it never interfers with the hook-up. I don't make any adjustments. 8-)
  17. The procedure will work nearly every time, but after a minute or so, cut the line if you can't work it out. 8-)
  18. Most (all?) of my soft plastics are dark, but I use these particular colors for grubs because they closely resemble baitfish. I like single tail grubs for the same reason. On a jig, I use the double tail as a trailer = crawdad immitation. 8-)
  19. Welcome aboard! We would appreciate lower case type except when capitalization is needed. 8-)
  20. I like simple solutions, too! 8-)
  21. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  22. NO ONE else does. :
