New Quantum Energy Baitcaster...
Re: Baitcaster for under $100.00 Reply #11 - Yesterday at 22:26:26* I think that quantum has came along way with their reels but after having two Energy P.T.'s crap out on me I don't think I willl buy another quantum. I will say this though quantum has some excellent customer service and quick turn around time. Just a comment from another thread that's currently running. I thought it was interesting that he just went through two of them. :

Plane travel with fishing gear?
You can save a little money and a lot of hassle by mailing it to someone you're fishing with. 8-)

Fishfinders: Really beneficial?
Most helpful in locating structure, particularly in deep water. This is where the bigger bass live. 8-)

Banjo minnow
Hmm... I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion from the comments that were made. At any rate, I wouldn't think you would fish a lure in a tounament that hadn't proven itself in practice. :

Lubing Reels
For my money, I clean and oil everything that moves and is accessable without opening the reel. When it's time for a thorough cleaning and lube, I ship my reels to a professional, David Green, The Reel Mechanic: http://www.reelmechanic.com/ 8-)

Swimbait
Get the Mattlures Baby Bass. It's very effective and can be fished on your MH or H baitcaster, no special equipment is required. 8-)

Turtles
Every pond I fish has hundreds of turtles, maybe thousands! I don't think they mean anything to fishing. 8-)

Need some reel advice...
Depending on what you are trolling for, I would go with one of the standard Calcutta reels, the 200B is pretty universal: http://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/global_fish/en/us/index/products/reels/round_baitcasting.html 8-)

Do Bass Realy Eat Lizards
Bass are opportunists and will eat anything! I suspect lizards represent something less than .001% of their diet, but the profile is the same as a newt. In some waters, this is a basic food source. Otherwise, I think lizards are just another profile in the long list of "plastics". 8-)

Removing hooks from turtles...
Here's an easy trick that will prevent you from being bitten: Find a stick and mess with the turtle until he bites it, he won't let go. Then remove the hook. This is not usually necessary if the hook is in the rear feet, but should be used anytime you are working up front. 8-)
