Yo-zuri Ultasoft going away?
Sorry guys, I don't have a clue, but when I last questioned the company about who carried the line, they responded that fish307.com carried all of the Yo-Zuri products. Hybrid Ultra Soft is listed here: http://www.fish307.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=180 8-)

Backing off Drags
i agree with this. i dont retie unless i am changing my bait, or the line breaks. and i certainly dont baby my gear. i know i should but i just dont. when i lip a fish i just chuck the rod and reel down or whatever to un-hook the fish. my buddy did step on one of my rods once, but it didnt break, cracked the finish in one spot but i repaired it. i guess my thoughts are this. i am out to enjoy the outdoors and catch some bass, not worry about scratching my gear. i dont use really high end stuff, but even if i did i would still treat it the same. Cliff Hmm... I treat all of my hunting and fishing equipment with care. I suppose that's why it always works and seems to last forever. 8-)

Question for you pro's...
Nope, bass don't know how deep they are or what's on the menu. If there are bass at any particular depth, soft plastics and jigs are always an option. 8-)

Fish keep breaking my line. Advice needed
I think everyone should experiment with a number of lines to find one or two that they like. Although I always recommend #6 Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft to everyone for it's added strength, I actually fish #4 on my smallmouth rig. I have never been broken off by a fish using any Hybrid or Hybrid Ultra Soft line. In addition to the smallmouth in my avatar, the line (#4) has held up against multi-species of 20+ lb fish. On the Tennessee River, smallmouth fishing often results in catfish, drum, buffalo and stripers. The heaviest fish I have seen landed was a 43 lb blue cat that my partner caught. He fishes original Hybrid #6. 8-)

Ok!!!!! TIMES UP. I'm frustrated now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stick with soft plastics for awhile, they are much easier to fish when you are trying to develope a feel. Although jigs produce very well for some, soft plastics are generally much more productive in terms of numbers. 8-)

Which reel"
I think you will be glad you spent the extra money on the CH51MG. 8-)

Ika was $$$ today!
This is not a good idea. Trust your hook-set, a double or triple will do more harm than good. You are most likely to pull a hook loose. 8-)

Fish keep breaking my line. Advice needed
Well, "better line" isn't the answer. I suppose it's possible that you have a defective spool, but that is highly unlikely. I too suspect the problem is with the equipment. However, buying 300 yards of another brand of line will address the issue. Try something else. 8-)

New ponds but need help with possible bait selection.
Fat Ika and Senko fished parallel to the bank, out 10-15 yards. If there are any bass in those ponds, you will catch a few... guaranteed! 8-)

Ok!!!!! TIMES UP. I'm frustrated now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I suspect you new partner will be able to put you on some fish and point out a few things you should look for in the future. A few tips on technique and things should work out. It's almost impossible to be out this time of year and not catch a couple of fish. Good luck! 8-)

Question for you pro's...
Welcome aboard! You need to find some different areas to fish. Little fish don't hang with big fish, that could be very dangerous! Look for structure associated with current and I'm sure you will find some better quality fish. The Tennessee River is well known for big bass, both green fish and brown. :

Do scents applied to baits really help that much?
The lubricating feature of MegaStrike is a reason for using "scent" on hard baits. Otherwise, "moving lures" will not be enhanced by adding an attractant to the presentation. 8-)

was i wrong?
Days you NEVER fish: Anniversary Her birthday Valentine's Day Mother's Day Christmas Is that too much to ask? This leaves 360 days in the year for fishing. :

Lure/Bait shoice in the summer?
I'm confident I would catch more bass on soft plastics than anything else. The Fat Ika and 6" Senko have been my go-to baits for some time. However, my attention has shifted to fishing a jig. I don't catch as many bass, but the one's I do are "special". I have become addicted to the jig. 8-)

I need top quality jigs PLEASE!!
I fish Craig's jigs in the 1/2 oz size. In addition to black and black & blue, I had some forest green with black flakes custom made. This is a very high quality jig. Recently I had GMAN make a few 1/2 oz for me and I want to tell you, he makes an excellent jig. I bought his version with a stand-up hook and have had good luck, 100% hook-ups! And finally, Evolution Jigs (one of our fine sponsors). This is the only 3/8 oz jig I use. Bobby's jig is unique in its ability to remain upright. There is no eyelet, you tie directly into the jig head and the weedguard is constucted with fluorocarbon fibers. I have caught several 7+ largemouth on this jig over the past two weeks. Although I continue to experiment with a number of trailers, the Net Bait Baby Paca Craw is hard to beat. This may replace the GYCB Flappin' Hog as my #1 trailer. 8-)
