Line strength vs. diam
I think you missed the point. Yo-Zuri had the line tested, rated and certified by IGFA and then posted those results. Independent testing, not corporate claims or hype. 8-)

Cheap reel?
Spinning reels are a much better option in this price range. 8-)

Diawa Megaforce Baitcasting reel
Hmm... We have some complimentary reviews on this thread, but on almost all others, this is a reel that people who own them suggest steering clear. Buyer beware. 8-)

Line strength vs. diam
The Yo-Zuri lines are the same as Ande Premium until you get to #12 and up. Then Hybrid is actually thinner (.013" vs .014"). I chose Ande for comparisons because it holds claim to more certified world records than all other brands combined. Although lines vary, I think Ande can serve as a proxy for "the standard". http://www.andemonofilament.com/specifications.htm Regarding actual breaking strength: Without challenging your specific test, I would state that my experience indicates strengths are as described on the Yo-Zuri website which have been certified by the IGFA: http://www.yo-zuri.com/Products/ProdLine/HybridLineChart.htm 8-)

Shimano Core
The reel you bought (5.0:1) is for crankbaits, specifically deep divers. Most of what I have heard about the Core has been very favorable, but some have reservations as to its relative value verses the CH50MG. The Core definitely has some bling-bling factor! Picture that black beauty on your orange Carrot Stix. Sounds pretty cool, eh? I don't have any reference for commenting on 6.2:1 vs. 7.0:1. 8-)

Bass Pro Shops Extreme baitcast reel
Hmm... I doesn't take much to move up from Quantum. I'm glad you like the Extreme, but I have never heard anything good about those reels. My friends at Bass Pro won't even fish with them for free... :

Please look and read -The New Evolution 2 Jigs are now available
The Cavitron Buzzbait is well made, comes on plane immediately, creates a strong bubble trail and most importantly (to me) produces an unique "chirping" sound. I have had remarkable success with the 3/8 oz., black on black model. 8-)

Ok!!!!! TIMES UP. I'm frustrated now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The three most important considerations: #1 Location #2 Location #3 Location With the best lure and presentation, you won't catch a thing if there are no fish. On the other hand, the wrong bait in the right place often works just fine! 8-)

Well, I'll sure give 'em a try, but I am having GREAT luck with the originals! I know your new jigs will be a hit, every product you offer is Top Shelf. 8-) p.s. If any of you guys haven't picked up a Cavitron buzzbait, do youself a favor and add that to your next order.

shad filled lake...
Welcome aboard! Ignore the shad and fish what you like. All the big water in the Mid-South is chuck full of gizzard shad, skipjack and our #1 baitfish, threadfin (yellowtail). I wouldn't try to immitate them, but offer an alternative. 8-)

LC 100 Pointer
I like collecting them, too! I fish the Baby Bass mostly, sometimes the MS American Shad and occasionally the Original Tennessee Shad. The other 10 or 12 never get wet, but I got 'em "just in case!" 8-)
