  1. The San Diego Jam is a great knot for braided line, but for big treble hook lures I prefer the 16-20 (also known as Duncan or Pitzen). http://www.orlandooutfitters.com/knots/knot.asp?id=12
  2. No, coming through weeds is not an issue in my mind. For the most part "stretch" comes into play with single hook lures where you must drive a hook into the bass' mouth. With treble hooks we generally use a sweeping motion and the fish hooks itself.
  3. Consider the Pinnacle Optimus XiHS or XLT. I have been VERY impressed. http://www.pinnaclefishing.com/shop/s-6-Baitcasting.aspx http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/pinnacle-optimus-xlt-dhc-review.html http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/128588-pinnacle-review/
  4. #12 Sunline Super Natural (monofilament)
  5. CONGRATULATIONS! I"ll bet this won't be your last G. Loomis.
  6. St. Croix Avid AVC66MF with a soft tip. The reel is a Scorpion 1000 spooled with #12 Sunline Super Natural. For the most part this is my dedicated jerkbait rig.
  7. Here ya go! http://www.okumafishing.com/product/view/rods/tournament-bass/scott-martin-s-tournament-concept-tcs-rods This is a review I wrote for a Okuma TCS baitcasting combo: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/tournament-rod-reel-okuma.html
  8. We need a price range to be helpful.
  9. The cost of soft plastics is such a small part of the price to fish. I want the best possible chance of catching fish when I have the opportunity to be out on the water. I put a much higher value on my time than the cost of a bait.

  11. Thanks JT, great advice!
  12. Spend some time in the BassResource Library, specifically "Fishing Articles" at the top of the page. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/worm_rigs.html
  13. I want the guide fishing to find the bass and what's working, but then that's it... After fishing with many guides for more than a decade I have only had two that didn't work out. We still paid and tipped, but will never fish with them again. On the otherhand, I have been fishing with Tim "Hotdawg" Curtis on the White River since around 2001. http://www.hotdawgguideservice.com/ The only guide that I have hired that compares with Dawg is Captain James Ray "Cuda" Scheer. http://cocodrieinsidecharters.com/charter-fishing.html
  14. Last year Seattle upset the best team in the NFL. CONGRATULATIONS Seahawks! This year may be different... The Road To The Super Bowl begins in 16 minutes... GO BRONCOS! p.s. How hot is Carrie Underwood in that little bitty skirt?
