  4. Man, I would never go there, but I fish with some guys that fish nothing but Hi Vis (yellow). These men are VERY successful. The fish apparently don't care a thing about line visibility, but it's still too ugly for me.
  5. No doubt, Seattle is the team to beat!
  6. After almost 30 years of Search & Rescue, I've had a front row seat for many of these stories, both good and bad. The one thing I'll pass on is this - I've Never taken a Life Jacket off a Dead Man. Stay Safe. A-Jay
  7. I have been very impressed with the Tuf-Line Tournament 8. http://www.tuf-line.com/products_TUF-Lines_26.html
  8. Over the years this question has come up many times. As a specific example, Fish Chris has documented at least 83 DD bass, most of which were caught in this time frame. I think Raul has made this comment and it applies to me, too. Maybe we will get some more members posting their experience.
  9. The biggest bass are caught between 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
  10. T-rig, weightless & weedless.

  12. The Gitzit was designed as a "do nothing" bait. Fling it out, set your rod down, light a smoke and pop a top! Over the years the "tube" has become one of the most productive lures ever invented, the Senko of its day. I suspect for most guys targeting largemouth bass this is something they seldom use. Fishing slow is one thing, fishing "stopped" is something entirely different.
  13. Big fan of both, but I fish the Kut Tail almost exclusively on a MegaStrike ShakE2 Professional Series.
  14. I am experimenting with braid mainline with a fluorocarbon leader on a couple of jig/ weighted sof plastics rig as well as my treble hook combos. I think I will probably go back to Yo-Zuri Hybrid and Tatsu only. I like a lot of the characteristics of braid, but for me it is just a pain in the rear to deal with. I thought the combination with leader might be the solution, but I am not completely satisfied. You will have to test different combinations for yourself. The short answer is this: "The Best" is #6 Tatsu for spinning, #20 for MH or H baitcasting and #12 Sunline Super Natural for MM. For cost efficiency substitue Yo-Zuri Hybrid #6 for spinning gear and #12 for the MH or H baitcaster.
  15. The blank compares favorably with those used by G.Loomis in the GLX series in terms of sensitivity and recovery. However, the power rating is more in line with St. Croix Legend Elite series, somewhat firmer than a comparable GLX. I rate all three a dead solid 10.
  16. The lure slightly exceeds the rods rating, but if you lob the 10XD it will work just fine and you can cast this lure a country mile! On the other hand, I prefer longlining the lure and trolling.
  17. Right now it's the Rage Structure Bug.
  18. A jig is your best bet, but here is something else to try: Sworming Hornet/ LFT Live Magic Shad. DON'T pump you rod, reel about 5 turns and let the lure drop on slack line, repeat until you feel you are out of "the zone". The blade lifts the bait when you reel, keep your rod steady at about 10 o'clock.
  19. LES70MF would be my suggestion for a GREAT all-around spinning rod.
