  1. Well, I will look at all these sites, but BPS, Cabelas and TW do not list Tiurnament 8.
  2. I'm interested in hearing how your project turns out.
  3. Several members have asked about the line, but I can't find a retailer. Who carries the line?
  4. Rage Tail Menace and Shellcracker GYCB Swimming Senko (back half)
  5. Mike will work with you, there are many options to stay within budget. To keep this in perspective, my rod cost about the same as a G. Loomis GLX. I don't feel like I paid any premium having the new rod custom made.
  6. $435 all in including shipping.
  7. Pickwick for smallmouth.
  8. Monofilament is great for treble hook lures. For single hooks fluorocarbom, braid or a combination (fluoro leader) might be a better choice. For an "all-around" line I would recommend Yo-Zuri Hybrid. http://yo-zuri.com/Products/Yo-Zuri_Fishing_Line/details/Yo-Zuri_Hybrid.html
  9. Monofilament is just fine as an "all-round" line, but I think you will find that there are MUCH better alternatives for various techniques. It really depends on how obsessed you are! Personally, I have VERY specific favorites. ALL of my treble hooks are fished with Sunline Super Natural.
  10. Hmm... I don't know why you haven't fished the Cavitron?
  11. Well, here in Tennessee our bass, both brown & green, like tobacco, beer and whiskey! If you think it is effecting your fishing I HIGHLY recommend MegaStrike. I believe it causes bass to hold a bait longer and the goo is VERY user friendly.
  12. Well, I have a little different take: The marketing is silly! #4 = 8.5 lb breaking strength with a diameter of .009". So it should be labled #8 #6 = 11.9 lb breaking strength with a diameter of .010." So that rounds to 12. #12 = 19.5, .013" and a breaking strength of 19.5 lbs.
  13. Give the Jika Rig a try: https://www.google.com/search?q=jika+rig&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=SlHmU6jBBrKN8QHE6ICoBw&sqi=2&ved=0CBwQsAQ&biw=1536&bih=884#facrc=0%3Bhow%20to%20make%20a%20jika%20rig&imgdii=_&imgrc=_
  14. Met up with a few members today at Grove: Jamie, Doug and George. The fishing was slow, but we had good conversation!
  15. Always a soft plastic option. The advantages are a different profile and action.
  16. Most guys like it, some don't. The line is inexpensive so it doesn't hurt too much if you are not impressed. I have been using a lot of other line for the past year or so, mainly to experiment with some of our sponsors products. Still, I fish Yo-Zuri Hybrid on the majority of my rigs.
  17. Seems kinda silly if you have never fished other line. I like mono for treble hooks, but there are better options for some techniques.
  18. Durable? More like indestructable! I have been using one Cavitron for more than 5 years. I ask Bobby what he thought about this lure when it has been bent back in place. He said they get better!
  19. Sometimes it seems pretty convincing that the bass are feeding. I recently had a big day on Pickwick fishing Siebert Outdoors 3/8 Big O jigs with a Rage Craw trailer (PB&J). The key was a slow drift on the bottom. Most of the fish I caught telegraphed their bite by picking at the claws. This was definitely a "feeding" bite. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/141661-pickwick-719-720/ An obvious example of a reaction bite is when nothing is happening and you literally hit a fish in the head!
  20. Well, you have not crossed the line, but this thread is too close. We DO NOT allow guns to be sold on the Forum. I realize that is not necessarily your intention, but still, that is the direction this is headed. At any rate, I have left your post up and suggest anyone that wants to respond to do so through our Personal Message system (PM). This thread is closed. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
