Well, there have been a few that met that criteria at the time, but technology keeps moving forward. I have a little PayPal rerserve that I'm going to grow towards the end of the year. My wife and I usually buy something that is the Christmas present from each other. I'm pretty sure she is getting me the new Stella this year.

We have another member who touted some Chinese junk last year. Not surprisingly he has never followed-up with a review. I for one appreciate your review and the fact that you aren't really surprised nor disappointed. The thing I hate is kids that can't afford an experiment buying into these scams.

I have been having a lot of luck with the Cavitron on local ponds. I have been stuck on black for some tim, but this year I have gone wild and thrown both white and bluegill. Needless to say, I am a big fan of this buzzbait!

The reel is beautiful, but I am most impressed with the fact that Shamano continues to make technical improvements on their flagship reel. My newest model is a 2500FD, but my favorite is a 2500FB. Looks like it might be time to kick it up a notch!

Well, north or south you will do MUCH better with the 3/8 weight simply because it casts further, so you cover more water.

I would leave the hooks alone until they need to be replaced.

The fished are stacked this time of year. So if you can find one, you have found them all! For recreational fishermen your best bet is to troll deep diving crankbaits around areas you identify with potential. Oddly, the fish tend to be concentrated in very specific spots. Get a bite and throw out a buoy, then fish the immediate area throughly. We anchored yesterday and only moved 15 yards or so twice. Another suggestion is to mark several spots over time. The fish move or become inactive and you need alternatives. However, recheck proven holes, you never know when the fish may show up again. Although we were able to find live bait yesterday, our primary tools are generally jig and purple worms, specifically the Thumper (blue fleck). Jigging spoons are another option, but plan to lose a few. Remember "If you aren't getting hung-up occasionallly, you're not in the right spot!"

Maybe there is something about C&R... Very interesting results.

When the E seriess was closed out Curados were available from a number of retailers for $125. NIB or gently used pop up on our Flea Market quite often.

Very good trailer. Bass seem to like the bulk and texture, they won't let go!

Wacked 'em good both days. Saturday my buddy from Sheffield, AL and I caught 17 bass, 11 smalljaws and 6 green bass. All but two of mine were caught on a Siebert 3/8 oz PB&J jig/ Rage Tail Craw (PB&J), The other two were on a DD22 Sexy Shad. My buddy fished a 3" tube and all his fish were smallmouth. Everything was feeding in 20'-25' of water. Today we fish yellowtail (threadfin) for three hours on ledges at 20'-28'. We caught around twenty green bass, a couple of smallmouth and a hand full of catfish. The bass ranged 3-5 lbs with plenty of attitude! We fished with a couple of other boats who had similar catches, including a 7 1/2 largemouth.

I am fishing today and tomorrow. I'm hearing fish are being caught in 20'-25' water. They seem to be stacked up on ledges, so when you find 'em you are going to catch a bunch!

Yep, and this was a better suggestion: Priority for me would be finding an area to fish without these problems, even if the fishing was not quite as good. This is far less then a perfect place to catch, Catch and Release Fish safely without injuring them.

Well, most guys don't actually lose too many spinnerbaits. I really don't think that is much of an isuue. But what is an issue is losing the fish of a lifetime. I buy MegaStrike StrikeBack and Siebert Outdoors Cosmic spinnerbaits for their quailty components and attention to detail.
