  1. C'mon... You just need a little thicker skin, there is a difference of perception, that's all. I haven't read anything that appears to be a personal attack.
  2. Too weak to tie a knot! I have an almost full spool and one unopened. Bought them because our new Academy was about to throw them away. $3.98 I think. At any rate, if you would like to try the line send me a PM with your mailing address and you can have it for free. -Kent
  3. Moderate and Slow Action rods have many applications, but I prefer a firmer tip for single hook lures. I think you might find that sensitivity comes into play the more you fish "reaction lures", especially crankbaits. You cannot read the bottom with a noodle.
  4. I'm pretty sure this is not the advice he was looking for.
  5. AbrazX is great line, but you should still retie.

  8. TW has Yo-Zuri Hybrid 600 yards of #12 for $15.99.
  9. I like both kinds of music, Country & Western.
  10. The big sale was last weekend at BPS. Just be patient and a deal will pop up.
  11. Try Yo-Zuri Hybrid #12. I think it might be just what you are looking for! http://yo-zuri.com/Products/Yo-Zuri_Fishing_Line/details/Yo-Zuri_Hybrid.html
  12. Congratulations! Nice fish, great pic!
  13. I think most guys have fished Trilene XL and XT at one time or another. Do yourself a favor and try a few other lines. Seaguar has some great lines. Yo-Zuri Hybrid is inexpensive and most guys like it. I use to fish P-Line, but the memory is awlful. If you want to stick with monofilament try Sunline Super Natural or Izorline.
  14. My kids are grown-up. My son is a doctor and his fiancee is a pediatrician. My daughter married an engineer and recently completed her Masters Degree. After bringing our first grandchild into the world next week, she will be teaching and pursuing a PhD. Not every Millennial is lost, but without parental involvement, their struggle is challenging. In many communities today's youth have no male role models. Without the support of "family" young people find it hard to find direction. There are no simple answers, but the first step is being involved.
  15. The most noticable differences are mild winters and four true seasons. It's hot and humid in the summer, but not any different than Kansas City or even Omaha. Fall is basically the same and beautiful here as it is in most of the country (my favorite season). Spring is usually early with hyacinths and daffodils blooming in late February. We have a few weeks of cold in the winter, but the first seven years I lived here there was no snow. A few ponds will freeze, but it's a thin sheet of ice. Lakes and rivers never freeze and some of the best fishing is in January and February, especially smallmouth! It's not San Diego, but if you like the change of seasons, the Mid South has a very pleasant climate.
  16. I was at a seminar several years ago. I bought some and it got "lost". I just spooled this one reel with it and surprisingly find the line to be great for treble hook applications. I have been experimenting this year with another monofilament, Sunline Super Natural, which I also like for jerkbaits. It's just for fun, I am still a BIG fan of Yo-Zuri Hybrid.
  17. On clearance the G is a no brainer.
  18. Nice collection!

  20. I wore out two Abu Garcia Ambassadors my first summer of striper fishing. That's how I became a Shimano guy. I bought my first CTE200GT in 2002 and it is a better reel today than the first day out of the box. No parts have ever been replaced, basic maintenance is all.
  21. Although I don't use fluorocarbon for this particular application, it is my go-to line for others. Tatsu is the finest line I have ever fished.
  22. C'mon guys, please stay on topic or start a new thread in "Other Species". This thread is not about tuna or jacks.
