Today is the last day of summer and it's going out with a blast: 100* and a new record! Tomorrow 88 and 82 on Friday. Rain on Sunday and then 80s. Woo-hoo! Autumn is almost here.

I am an Original Chiefs Fan, season ticket holder when the AFC first started and the Chiefs moved to Kansas City. Back in the 60's the Chiefs were always in the hunt, the first "World Championship" and then winning Super Bowl IV. That was my senior year in high school. My high school, Raytown South, won the State High School Basketball title that year, too. So, 50 YEARS LATER, the Chiefs won again! I think they will dominate as long as Patrick is the quarterback. Plus, he is really fun to watch, Chiefs fan or not.

Well, this is something I especially like about river fishing. You are always on the move and occasionally "go back". Regardless of what it looks like, every inch of river has potential.

Clear, but if you can find "smoke" it blends perfectly with Tennessee River water.

The beer counts, the drum doesn't.

The last week has been nice after a brutal summer. Looks like we will finish the month in the mid 90's. However, nights are cool and getting longer. The best news is that water temperatures on the Tennessee River have dropped to 69.5*. The smallmouth bite turns on at 70* WOO-HOO!
