Lake Guntersville (Attending A Wedding Around My Fishing Trip)
Guntersville produces more 5-8 lb bass than any other reservoir on the Tennessee River. I recommend going straight there and hiring a guide for the first day or two. Spinnerbait Kid is one to consider: http://www.spinnerbaitkid.com/ This is the Roadtrip 2012: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/lake-guntersville-2012.html

I did years ago, but it's just not my cup of tea. If you go bring your lightest rig. Just about anything works for bait/ lures. I fished a Panther Martin, black with chartreuse spots, gold blade.

Here's a fun project: Take all your baits and lures out of the Plano boxes, clean the boxes, inspect the lures and reorganize your tackle bag. If you haven't used something in the last several years sell it, give it away or put it into a separate storage container. Another suggestion: Even if you are completely satified with the knots you are tying, learn to tie a few more. Try the Pitzen, Big O, Palomar, San Diego Jam and Snell knots for example. Maybe a couple of different line to line knots: Blood, Albright or Alberto, Nail, Double Uni. No luck lately on the ponds and TVA is running half days on the river. The bite is good on the Tennessee when there is current. Otherwise, there is no bite! I had plans to fish today and tomorrow, but you know that's out. So, maybe next weekend.- I'm Out Of Touch
This "pants on the floor" trend has me stumped...Why would a guy want to immulate a prison style implying "I'm available"? Geez, that's just crazy!- Loomis Mbr783C For Jigs
I think the MBR844C is a better all-around jig rod.- Shaky Head Setup
If you already have a spinning rig for soft plastics that is all you need for shakey heads. My suggestion is 61/2' - 7' Medium Power/ Fast Action. If you are patient you should be able to buy "gently used" higher end gear on our Flea Market> Here is my specific recommendation: St. Croix Avid AVS68MXF ~$125 Shimano Symetre 1000 or 2500 ~$75 or Stradic ~$125- **sigh** Senko
Start here: This topic is pinned at the top of this section. If you still have questions about the Senko after reading everything there, you are welcome to post questions here in the Tackle section. However, one thing we really don't need is another food fight on price, value and performance of knock-offs vs. the real deal. NOTHING compares to the A Rig. My next favorite is the Rage Tail Menace.- Citica Question
Loosen the cast control until you get a slight wiggle in the spool, then tighten it back down just to where there is no play. That is where you will get maximum spin. Also, even though the reel is brand spanking new, a thorough cleaning and lube will probably improve the overall performance. Manufacturers tend to over lube new reels.- A New Rod

A friend of mine tested Sufix 832 20/6. The line broke at 26 lbs (best), 23 lbs (worst). However, the line broke well above the knot, the Big O did not break.- Nfl Playoff Game
I hear ya! My Plan B was going to one of the bars on Larimer Square. It's not the same, but you will still have a blast with the Denver fans. http://www.larimersquare.com/directory/- New Knot: The Big O
When you tighten the knot the loops must seat evenly and not jump over one another. THIS IS THE KEY TO THIS KNOT. I like to finesse it into itself like a Chinese finger trap as I tighten to ensure it seats right. - Adding A Skirt To A Shakey Head?
