  1. The Citica is VERY user friendly. New or used, this would be a great reel to start with.
  2. If the reel is still under warranty, exchange it for a new reel RM. has been in the business for two or three decades. I would recommend taking his advice on this issue and everything else involving reel maintenance.
  3. Pitzen Knot also known as 16-20 or Duncan Knot http://www.netknots.com/fishing_knots/pitzen-knot
  4. Yo-Zuri Hybrid #12 would be the most "versatile" I think. I use braid, fluorocarbon or a leader combination for specific applications.
  5. The rod is probably best suited for jigs and soft plastics, but will work for crankbaits, too. Consider Medium Power/ Moderate Action for your next rod. That would be a better fit for most treble hook lures.
  6. Rage Baby Craw, Craw or Lobster Swim jig: Rage Menace or Single Tail Grub

  9. Happy Holidays to you, furball!
  10. The Fat Ika and Palm Tree are exactly the same. Both are made by GYCB, marketed under different names.
  11. Legend has it, The Bait Monkey was orphaned in Mexico where he was rescued by a kind young veterinarian many years ago. The young man was a very bright doctor and an avid fisherman. He took the little monkey everywhere, but the animal became fascinated with lures. The aspiring doctor's career blossomed and he became deeply involved in research with the Mexico Department of Fisheries. As the doctor became more affluent, the monkey's taste in lures began to change. His focus now switched to Japan. This was the beginning of The Bait Monkey. Over the years he has developed the mysterious ability to influence the buying habits of fishermen all over the world. His spirit rests on our shoulder and whispers in our ear, "We need that". Btw, that brilliant man that created The Bait Monkey is our very own Dr. Raul or less formally, Raul.
  12. I think that's true across the MegaStrike product lines. Great value for the money!
  13. I know some of the guys responded to questions you posed for an article you were writing. Was that one published?
  14. The MBR844C is a great rod for weighted soft plastics and jigs.
  15. For medium weight crankbaits I fish an Avid AVC70MM. For heavier lures and deep divers Lamiglas SR705R.
  16. Something else that isn't so good for Bobby, but great for his customers: One tube lasts for a long time! I use MegaStrike all of the time and still haven't used an entire tube this year.
