Bcs Bowls And Others
I thought the Rose Bowl would be fun, but Nebraska's total collapse spoiled their entire season.

We'll see...I have not been a Manning fan until he joined the Broncos. My point is, "Why give up on a guy that has built the franchise?" It makes no sense to me. I felt the same way when Montana went to the Chiefs.

7:1:1 Reels Around 130 Or Less That Handle Braid Well? Lews Mg? Citica? Or Any Others?
Keep an eye on the Flea Market. You should be able to pick up a Curado 200E NIB or gently used in your price range.

Jig Fishing Questions
Surprised... Braid has improved my jig fishing significantly.

What's On The Menu Today?
Tonight it's a KC Strip, mushrooms and onions on top, potato with real butter and sour cream. The veggies are broccoli and carrots. Sour dough bread and a dry Bordeaux. Salad is a simple avocado, red onion and tomato with Italian dressing. Peach pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert.

Geez....How embarrassing is it to be running the Indianapolis Colts? The most popular person in the history of the state is traded to Denver. Peyton Manning was cleared to play and a number of teams sought him. Now these guys have not only lost one of the greatest quarterbacks in history, but maybe future leadership for the State Of Indiana. This might be the dumbest move in the history of the NFL.

Abu/shimano Shootouts - Post Links
Go back through this section as far as you like. I suspect the first 100 pages will have all the information you are looking for, but there are more! Reel comparisons are a huge part of this forum, specifically in this section. I'm sure we will have another food fight next week. As a general response, most of today's brands are very close in initial use at all pricing points. Arguments usually are about features, components and long-term durability. Having said that, it still boils down to personal experience with different brands and preference.

Glx Vs Legend Elite
Gosh, you already have rods to compare. GLX spinning equipment is no different than baitcasting other than the traits of specific blanks.
-
Glx Vs Legend Elite
I have both. I think they are comparable and the St. Croix is a little less expensive. Specifically, I would recommend the LES70MF.

Am I Right Or Wrong?
Geez...I was trying to stay out of this, but there is a ringing in my head, "Nobody was hurt, the damage is minor and most importantly, IT'S JUST A CAR!" I suggest wiping the slate clean and starting over. Have a man-to-man conversation with the father and get this resolved. Both of you are making a mountain out of a mole hill. Ask him to goi fishing with you, without the girl. I suspect that would solve everything! One more thought just to put this in perspective: I was married in 1977 and still with the same wonderful woman for 35 years. During that period I have owned 28 vehicles, 5 prior to marriage and 4 currently if you include my son and daughter's which I bought for them. One wife vs. 33 cars and trucks. Which do you think is most important?

Jig Fishing Questions
WOW! Maybe you can teach an old dog new tricks... Some of you may find this unbelievable, but I rarely catch fish on the drop. Almost all my fish are caught working the bottom, a specific piece of cover or structure. Swim jigs are another animal, but with traditional jigs, I have never really considered the speed of the fall.

What Has Bass Fishing Done For You?
How 'bout new friends? I have fished with a dozen or more BR members here in the Memphis area alone. Many more on the RoadTrips plus another 30-40 guys that have attended, but I have not fished with. In addition to people I have met here on the site, all of my "best friends" are fishermen.

New To Bass Looking For Some Help
You should probably stick with steelhead or other species you have had success with this time of year. Winter is probably not the best time to target bass in your part of the country.

Determining Rod Preference
Seems like this thread is drifting into "anything will do". No doubt plenty of fish are caught on cane poles, another huge percentage on disposable gear and all kinds of stuff. However, if you intend to advance your game and learn the nuances of the multitude of techniques, build your equipment base on the experience others offer you on this forum. Having the right equipment will not guarantee that you will catch more fish, but "fishing" will be more fun!

Tourney/club Equipment
For enthusiasts, technique specific gear is fun to collect. However, three rigs cover all the basics: #1 6 1/2' or 7' MH baitcaster for jigs, some soft plastics and spinnerbaits #2 6 1/2' or 7' MM baitcaster for treble hook lures #3 7' MF spinning rod for lighter lures and a variety of techniques

Delaware Valley Tackle
'Tis the season to be jolly...and have your reels serviced for the coming year! Delaware Valley Tackle joined our family of sponsors this year and I am quite proud. I have had some work done and have had the opportunity to speak with Mike directly. In addition to the annual service, I asked Mike to supertune a Curado 50E and a 200E. Man, was I impressed. Prices are fair, turnaround is fast and I have a great deal of convidence in knowing the job was done right. As added benefits for BassResource members, Mike offers a 10% disccount on his work and free consultation. If you are trying to do maintainence yourself, Mike will share his expertise with you if you run into a bind. For me, that would be what to do with all the "extra parts"! I hope you will think of Delaware Valley Tackle when it's YOUR GEAR that needs cleaning, repair or an upgrade. Mike is a friend of mine and a friend of yours. http://www.delawarevalleytackle.com/ :santa-107:

Determining Rod Preference
The absolute weight isn't particularly important, it's balance that counts. Basically a well balanced rod and reel will feel weightless. I don't know these rods specifically, but what you want to avoid is a "tip heavy" rig. Tip heavy feels heavy and just generally uncomfortable.

2 Ponds Today Update
Bass will suspend with a neutral attitude, something between sleep and a fish version of hibernation. These fish are virtually uncatchable. The only thing that might work is The Rig. A school of fish swimming in front of their nose should get some attention from any fish that is alive.
