  1. I think the reel is fine, line capacity is not an issue. I have an STX that would certainly do the job.
  2. Sure... Read about Davy Hite's victory at Pickwick last year: http://www.bassresou...-lake-3-11.html I have personally done very well with this bait.
  3. Check out the LBAA http://www.ladybassanglers.com/
  4. Try fluorocarbon from our new sponsor, Seaguar. For spinning tackle, InvizX #8 For baitcasting, AbrazX
  5. Okay... Guntersville: Mix it up however you like, but it seems to be nothing but Red Eyed Shad and The Rig. Table Rock: The Rig...More and bigger than have EVER been reported on this lake during the winter! Kentucky Lake: Red Eyed Shad, Rage Tail Craw (weighted hook) Grove Park & Colierville Civic Center: Keitech Swing Impact Fat p.s. I'm fishing below Wilson Friday and Saturday: The Rig, Norman Fat Boy, Red Eyed Shad and Mission 110
  6. C'mon... Local tournaments on Pickwick have been producing 25-30 lb bags, with several double digits including 11 something, 13 something and 14.58, a new (unofficial) State Record. What more do you really need to know? I'm kill'in 'em on the Keitech Swing Impact Fat, The Rig and Megabass Ito Mission 110.
  7. The Rig is THE BOMB! However, you still have to find the fish. When you do, hold on and brace yourself, this is no sissy bite! I'm still experimenting with a variety of presentations, but the #1 aspect is flash in the middle. Some are just using a bigger bait, but I like a blade. I'm rigging small LFT Live Magic Shad weightless on the outer arms, Johnson Silver Minnow in the middle. I would estimate the total weight to be just an ounce or so.

  9. I think you will find the InvizX is a great fluorocarbon for spinning tackle. For baitcasting gear, AbrazX is another outstanding fluoro.
  10. Let's start with something simple: Buy the original Rapala Floating Minnow, silver and black. Cast the lure parallel to the bank, preferably along a grassline. Let the lure sit for at least thirty seconds, then retrive slowly and steadly. If you fish deep water along a steep bank for example, you can fish a Rat-L-Trap (blue & chrome) with the same casting pattern and retrieve. Both of these lures are proven producers. If you think you're ready for soft plastics, buy two bags of 5" Senkos (not knock-offs) and one bag of GYCB Fat Ika, all watermelon with black flakes. Rig these baits on a Gamakatsu 4/0 EWG Offset Worm Hook, weightless and weedless. Cast them just as I described with the Rapala. Allow the bait to settle to the bottom and leave it there for a minute. Move the bait 6"-12" with a horizontal sweep, allowing the bait to settle on slack line. Leave the bait motionless for at least fifteen seconds between movements. Focus on presentation and do NOT change baits or use anything else. Fish the entire bag of Senkos, then half the bag of Fat Ika before going back to the Senko. If you don't catch any bass on these four lures/ baits, find somewhere else to fish.
  11. Saturday morning I caught four bass: one dink, two "keepers" and one 5-6 lbs at Collierville.
  12. Well, I have only fished The Rig for a day and a half so far, but have caught some fine bass and well over 150 lbs of fish! Most of the guys I know are catching size and numbers, winning tournaments and claiming the big bass to go with it.
  13. Really looking forward to getting down to getting down to Guntersville next month. I hope some of our guys have 36 lb days!
  14. Whoo-Hoo! Nice weekend fer shure.....
  15. That's a fine fish. Congratulations!
  16. Congratulations! Great pic, too!
  17. You are on fire!
  18. Really? Save your dollar and buy a couple of Red Eye Shad and Xr50. You won't need to replace the hooks either.
  19. Really... I gave my Rogues away years ago. I talked with a rep at the Bass Pro Classic Sale several years ago. My complaints were terrible hooks, inconsistent QC (3 in 10 "suspend" ), poor quality finish and TERRIBLE casting characteristics (hook-in-mouth disease). His "confidential" reply was "We replace every lure a customer doesn't like. The lures cost nothin'." I have caught tons of fish on Rogues, but the lure still sucks. There are SO MANY better alternatives.
  20. X2 Responding to the OP, the Keitech Swing Impact Fat.
