  1. For $300 they are the "Best Value" on the planet! My best friend and fishing partner describes the Stella this way: "It's like holding (another name for a kitty cat) in the palm of your hand." That is EXACTLY what it is like!
  2. Someone doesn't like the Senko, it's too easy. Another doesn't like The Rig, it's not sporting. Fine by me...Fish what you like for fun, but if you don't fish either of these baits/rigs in tournaments, you are going to get your butt handed to you. I don't fish tournaments, but I like "catching" a lot more than just "fishing". I started fishing the Senko in 1997. I will fish The Rig this year.
  3. Nah...It's those sexy legs!
  4. That's a beauty. Great pic, too! Congratulations on the win!
  5. Over? What about the BIG ONE, ICAST?
  6. http://www.bassresou...ring-lures.html Well, with all due respect to Mr. Parker, he's missing one "Must Have" and my two favorite lures classes! We don't need to argue about the pros and cons of the A-Rig on this thread, but like it or not, if you fish tournments where The Rig is allowed, you don't have a chance of winning without it this year. The second "missing piece" is the hard body jerkbait. This is my most productive technique this time of year when I fish from a boat. I don't fish them much from shore simply because you cannot retrieve hang- ups. Fishing a jerkbait is my favorite presentation! Third would be most fishermen's pride and joy, topwater. I cannot imagine why Hank would leave this out. Is there anyone that doesn't fish topwater in the spring? I have never met the guy that doesn't fish this presentation this time of year.
  7. Hmm... I think the Citica would be #1 based soley on those with a MSRP within your pricing parameter. However, the Curado 200 and 50 can be easily found for ~$125. Those would be the "Best Value" in my opinion.
  8. Spinning tackle: #6 Hybrid Baitcasting gear: #12
  9. I think the CI4 is the "Best Value" in what most would consider the "high end" category. If you want a Stella, be patient and shop around. I paid $300 apiece for two of my reels, $400 for the other, all NIB. The $300 reels were bought seperately from guys who had won them in a raffle or tournament.
  10. The Citica is an outanding reel and VERY user friendly.
  11. My best advice is to click on to "Fishing Articles" at the top of the page and read through every section. Don't make this "work", take your time and enjoy yourself while learning a lot on a variety of topics. Then come back with questions!
  12. I bought the 2500 FA and later the 2500 FB when they were introduced. Currently I own the 1000 FA, 2500 FD and 2500 FE. Smooth, strong, silent and reliant. This is what TackleTour has to say: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewstella3000fe.html

We have a system's screen for this company as well as a few others. The answer to your question is "probably not". The website has been down for some time which doesn't bode well for an internet only company. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  14. Just build your collection over time. Start with a better spinning reel this year: Shimano Symetre 2500FJ would be my suggestion.
  15. One of Shimano's greatest attributes is the availability of parts, direct usually, but almost always in the after-market.
  16. Pretty technical reviews. GREAT job guys!
  17. Last year on the RoadTrip I had the privilege of fishing one day with Big O and Steezy. Big O fished the Lobster (Falcon) T-rigged, Steezy the Craw (Summer Craw) on a keel weighted hook. The keel weight causes the entire presentation to fall a little slower and almost perfectly horizontal. Steezy ALMOST kept up with Big O! You are REALLY going to like that rigging.
  18. Worst: Granddaddy around 1959: "What's ya doin' with that rubber worm? We got plenty of worms and minnows". Best: Sports show in the winter of '98: "You need to give this a try, it's called a Senko".
  19. You know Table Rock can be really tough in the winter. I hear they're killin' 'em right now with The Rig! I'm headed up to the White River below Bull Shoals for the weekend. I'll post something more after talking to the local guides and some of the guys at Red's.
  20. Be safe and take notes!
  21. My suggestion is the Curado 50E which I recently purchased on our Flea Market for $125. The reels come up on the board quite often.
  22. I wear the Fit-Overs, too. Beware, my daughter says they make me look "old and uncool"...duh!
