Have Some Fishing Rod Questions!
For enthusiasts, technique specific gear is fun to collect. However, three rigs cover all the basics: #1 6 1/2' or 7' MH baitcaster for jigs, some soft plastics and spinnerbaits #2 6 1/2' or 7' MM baitcaster for treble hook lures #3 7' MF spinning rod for lighter lures and a variety of techniques

Question For The Rage Guys
I fish the Baby Craw on a NorthStar 1/4 oz Hairy Craw jig or naked on a 2/0 Offset Worm Hook and a 1/8 oz weight. For 3/8 and 1/2 oz jigs, the regular Rage Tail Craw. For bigger jigs, the Lobster. My favorit presentation is GMAN's 3/4 oz Mop Head or the 1 oz Big O jig with a Lobster trailer.

New Reel Reviews
Perhaps it was my fault...but I had only owned the reel for about two weeks when it happened. Take it back to the store for replacement or send it in to Shimano for replacement. Why didn't you address the issue when it came up? The warranty may state that it is only good for a year, but give them a call and I bet they will take care of you. Try to talk with Dan Thorburn. http://fish.shimano....r_Services.html

Ultralight Bassin
I only fish ultra light for crappie, white bass and stocker trout.

Pickwick Is On Fire!
Very few lunkers will be caught and eaten. The "lucky" fishermen don't catch many big bass.

Bps Johnny Morris Signature, Or A Pinnacle Optimus Xt?
Pinnacle Perfecta offers a number of choices. I happen to have the jerkbait, crankbait rod: http://www.pinnaclefishing.com/shop/t-technicalhighlightrods.aspx http://www.pinnaclefishing.com/shop/p-119-perfecta-dhc5.aspx#page=page-1

Pickwick Is On Fire!
You know I don't like to waste time on green fish this time of year, but with all that's happening right now, I'm refocused, at least for this weekend!

Quality Of Soft Plastics
You are just going to have to try different brands and see for yourself. These discussion usually end up in a war of words. I'm not going there, but I'll suggest one little challenge: Buy a couple of packs of Rage Tail Craws to compare to whatever other craw you have been fishing. I had been fishing Paca Craws for years and really liked them. I don't fish them anymore.

Pickwick Is On Fire!
Driving down to Florence, AL on Friday, fishing all day Saturday and maybe Sunday morning. Monday is Presidents Day. I may fish below Pickwick Dam then.

Fishing New Water
Try to talk with some locals to find out what's been working. Specific depth, structure and lures work at different times of year. Right now the hottest new thing on the planet is Alabama Rig. On the Tennessee river square bills, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits and small swimbaits are working in 5-15' of water along rip rap and on the outside of gravel flats.

Why Are Spinning Reels Cheaper?
Mine aren't.

If You Could Only Have Two Baitcasters, What Would You Choose?
You da MAN! Although I certainly prefer MH for many applications, Medium power covers a broader array of lures, at least for me. Specifically, the Avid AVC70MM ranges from Bandit 100 to the LC RC 3.5. For a DD22 or DT16, I'm fishing the Lamiglas SR705R, but I consider that "technique specific" and not particularly "versatile".

If You Could Only Have Two Baitcasters, What Would You Choose?
The rod you have will cover most techniques for single hook lures. Your second rod should be medium power/ moderate action for all medium weight treble hooks. Later, I suggest adding a spiining outfit for finess and lighter lures.

Delaware Valley Tackle Service
Just received two reels back from Delaware Valley Tackle. Although I was perfectly satisfied with my stock Curado 200E7 and 50E, I wanted to have them cleaned and supertuned. New bearings and pads, cleaned an polished! Thanks Mike! I can't wait to give them a try. -Kent
