Well, I don't know. I have been using and recommending the line for at least 5 years, maybe longer. Although I constantly experiment with a variey of different brands, Yo-Zuri Hybrid is spooled on 16 of 20 rigs. Spinning: #4 & #6 Baitcasting: #12

For the most part, when a pricing point is stated, the response addresses that range. A recent post ask for "The Best Spinning Combination" in the Smallmouth section. I responded, but sometime later the OP said they wanted to spend $300 or less. Not having this little bit of information made my response worthless. BTW...For $300 I would buy a Stradic 2500FJ offered recently on our Flea Market for $115 and an Avid AVS70MF or AVS68MXF for around $100 gently used.

I never actually fished the CX, but I thought maybe I just bought a "bad" spool. Mine was #8 (.009" diameter) which I could break easily by hand!

Let's replace it with some fresh line. I think I have 4 or 5 miles left! The #12 is still unopened. If you want to spool up some baitcasters, bring them with you. I'm not exactly sure how many miles of line we have on the spool, but we won't run out!

Usually the poster doesn't know much about A or B and other options are MUCH better. For the most part, responders are just trying to be helpful. I don't usually comment on low end gear because I really don't know much about the specific model. On the other hand, after a decade or two of "collecting", some of our members have learned a great deal about competing brands at various pricing points. To illustrate my point: Should I buy Rogues or Husky Jerks? My response would be neither. Pointers are FAR SUPERIOR jerkbaits. Other options include Megastrike Vision 110, McStick and Flit.

No. A "packaged" lure with multiple blades is considered "one lure".

Watch the video again. "Decoys" count as lures, with or without hooks.

In Tennessee multiple blades are considered to be part of a single "packaged" lure. Seperate blades, regardless of whether they have hooks, are considered "lures". In this case, the rig in question would not be legal in this state. Tennessee is currently reviewing the specific rules for multiple presentations. At this time the limit is 3. I will update the review after fishing the reel more this spring and summer. Out of the box, it's perfect!

No The competition is fierce, costs are high, especially in terms of time. Return is low for start-ups. Unless you have an "in", it will be VERY difficult to find anyone willing to give you shelf space. I suppose a few pepople make it working the internet, but thousands don't! On the other hand, we have several sponsors that are doing well. Perhaps they will see this thread and share some "hands on" advice.

Monofilament was unanimously recommended for jerkbaits by the pros. I fish #12 Sunline Super Natural. This is the only technique where I fish mono.

I selected a matching rod, the DHC5-701CAMCB which is primarily designed for jerkbaits and light crankbaits. However, this combination is much more versatile than that! I would definitely include topwater, spinnerbaits and any "moving" application, especially small to medium weight swimbaits. The Optimus XLT is a work of art. X-Bone metal frame with gold titanium side covers complimented by gunmetal grey, silver and black. Sporting a gear ration of 7.3:1, the reel is smooth and fast. Inside we have 11 double-shielded stainless steel bearings. The drive gear is comprised of duralumin alloy which is 70% lighter and 20% stronger than brass. Braking consists of tandem cast control, both magnetic and centrifugal anti-backlash systems with external dial settings. Casting is a dream and the retreive is exceptional. As an added bonus, the Optimkus XLT features a "quick Flip" button that allows the spool to be engaged instantly.

The 5/0 Offset Round Bend is the perfect hook for big worms, specifically the Rage Tail Thumper and Anaconda.
