Greetings From Guntersville
I'm not questioning the story, just wanted to hear more about the fish. Thanks for responding, I have never fished that section of the river. Do you know if the tailwaters their are "generally" productive? It seems like most smallmouth reports are all about Pickwick below the Wilson Dam or below the Pickwick Dam. I'm up for trying something new if you think it's worth the travel time.

Pretty silly, huh? I only buy lures when they are for sale.

Jig Fishing Questions
Hmm... Most guy's big fish presentation. I rarely fish a jig unless I'm fishing for big bass, but I never fish for anything else!

Rods....weight, Feel, Etc.....
The key is balance, not absolute weight. If your reel balances the rod, the rig will "feel" almost weightless.

Stand Up Jigs
I fish GMAN and NorthStar jigs. For trailers I am a big fan of Rage Tail Baby Craws, Craws and Lobsters. Rigging is through the first joint of the tail then up through the body at the bend in the hook. The Craw should stand up with claws in fighting position.
