Nope, but I have a CTE100GT and two CTE200GT. I would rate them all 10/10 and have owned one for about 12 years, another 7 or 8 and the "new one" was bought second hand 3 or 4 years ago. All three reels are better than new!

Hmm... I don't think there would be any issues with country stars. King George, Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, etc., etc. For the most part, C&W singers are solid citzens that can be counted on for wholesome family entertainment. I don't ever recall a single incident at the CMAs.

I am arriving Saturday and leaving the following Friday. Seats have never been an issue, but any non-boater planning to fish Saturday or Sunday should make arrangements with a boater before they arrive. I am looking for a seat Saturday. -Kent

Right now it's all jigs for me. More generally, every soft plastic presentation or technique should work. Frogs and spinnerbaits are fine, but treble hooks in general tend to find new homes. Don't fish anything that you don't mind losing. In a boat everything is retrievable with a little effort, but not when you are restricted to the bank. As for a little encouragement, most of my biggest largemouth have come from local ponds. Some of my friends that are BassResource members have caught big bass, including several PBs on these same ponds.

"Slipping" is a great technique! On a big river with stong current, boat control is everything. My fishing on both the Tennessee and White River in Arkansas involves a "controlled drift". Ideally, the boat moves with the bait or lure. This in effect allows me to fish "flat water". We point the boat upriver, maintaining position with the trolling motor.

Well now, you could have turned this into a big positive. I have had the opportunity to fish with several of our members locally in Memphis, Pickwick, Kentucky Lake, Wilson, Wheeler, Guntersville, Bull Shoals and on the White River. I have learned some things from my fishing partners, made several new friends and put a few guys onto their Personal Best, about ten in 2011. As another member already wrote, "you get what you put into it" most of the time.

If you have a man cave it might make for an interesting wall hanging. Otherwsie, I doubt there is much value or collector demand for the rod. I recently inherited a few similar pieces that I gave to a couple of guys with young kids. One I kept to use with a lure retriever.

If you divide that into 8 hour days, it's 704 days per fish. Note too, this study was conducted on waters considered to be the most productive in the country in terms of numbers of 5 lb bass!

I have read numerous outdoor writers state that only 5% of bass fishermen have ever caught a 5 lb bass. Although the chances of a fry reaching that weight in a natural environment is less than one in a million, there are thousands in big lakes, especially Southern waters. If your goal is to catch a few bass and the size doesn't matter to you, just about anything will do. Location is the key, but once you find them, bass are really pretty easy to catch. So, for 95% of the fishermen out there, the gear and tackle isn't that important. On the other hand, if you want to consistantly catch bigger bass, the situation is different. Location still dominates in importance, but presentation, gear and tackle come into play. When I answer a question on the forum, I'm addressing those that want to advance their game, especially the young novice. I try to share the things that work for me and specifically recommend the brands I fish. More importantly, I want to share the "where", "when" and "how". Which brings us to the question, "Which do you want to be a part of, the 95 percent or the 5 percent?"

Whether you catch anything or not, it seems like a good "waste of time" to me! I suppose a lot has to do with where you live, but here in the Mid South we're catching a few. You might want to take some soft plastics that can be fished weedless, too. Rip rap tends to have an appetite for jigs, especially when you are fishing from shore. Good luck!

Changed? You bet! Years ago all I wanted to do is "catch a fish". These days I don't care anything about being skunked or "catching a fish". I've adopted Big O's Theory: Go big or go home. I want to target the biggest fish in the water I'm fishing. On the Tennessee River that's a 12 lb smallmouth and 15 lb largemouth!
