Next time I send you some reels I will include the original spinning reel I bought directly from Ray Scott. Polish the gears, replace bearings or supertune it any way you like. If it turns out good, I would like to have it back. If not you can keep it, give it away or just throw it away! When I bought the reel I didn't like it immediately. So, I gave it to my dad for Christmas along with the Ray Scott rod. My father recently passed away, now the rig is back to me. There is no sentimental value. If you decide to keep the reel, I'll send you the rod, both at no cost. -Kent

I fish the 3/4 oz Ledgebuster Single Willow Blade; chartreuse skirt with a gold blade or white skirt and silver blade. Well, I have fished the CI4 a little, but I don't actually own one. My impression is WAY over the top! I thought the reel compared favorably to my Stella reels. I'm a "collector", I would never do that. At least 95% of my stuff has never been in water except the pool when they were first purchased. Every year I promise myself I will fish "something different". We'll see...

I think I have two of every color combination and size, but I have never fished anything but 3/8 oz black on black. As a matter of fact, I only fish the first Cavitron I got and it's REALLY beat up! The MegaStrike Cavitron is special to me, very special.

For enthusiasts, technique specific gear is fun to collect. However, three rigs cover all the basics: #1 6 1/2' or 7' MH baitcaster for jigs, some soft plastics and spinnerbaits #2 6 1/2' or 7' MM baitcaster for treble hook lures #3 7' MF spinning rod for lighter lures and a variety of techniques I recommend #6 Yo-Zuri Hybrid for spinning gear; #12 Hybrid for baitcasting.

I have four Avids and two Legend Elite. The LE are comparable to the G. Loomis IMX, the Avids are not. However, I consider the Avid series to be the "best value" at the pricing point and excellent rods.
