Curado E7 vs. Revo SX vs Revo STX
Oops! I just read a review about the new STX. Sounds like a different animal. http://www.texasbasstackle.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=1231 -Kent

Dobyns Rods?
I have a Dobyns Champion 683C. I don't care for the split grip, but otherwise, it is well made. Mine is saddled with a CH50MG which balances perfectly. So well in fact, the combination creates the illusion of weightlessness. If split grip is your thing, you will like these rods and they will serve you well. 8-)

Curado E7 vs. Revo SX vs Revo STX
I wouldn't consider buying another STX. The Curado 200E7 is much more user friendly. After two years my STX is finally dialed in, but it still likes to mess with me on occasion. I have it set up to use for one technique only... As a dedicated reel, it's still just "okay". 8-)

Chronarch 50mg....Deal or no deal
The CH50MG was discontinued a couple of years ago. I think your "new" reel needs serviced, the grease and oil may have dissipated over time. Regarding line...I think #12 is a better choice. #6 just doesn't work well for me on baitcasters. Plus, you'll use a whole spool if you go too small. Oh, and BTW, the CH50MG is one of my favorite reels. Even at its original pricing point, I have always consider this reel a "Best Value". 8-)

New hotel in Dubai has grand opening. Check it out.
Please explain. This resort was a joint venture between a UAE-owned company and a South African hotel gazillionaire. I'm no money-man but I'm not understanding how that comes out of our pockets? The Arab economies are funded directly or indirectly by oil money. The United States has the ability to be energy independent or at the very least, less dependent. I would like to see our money used to strengthen our country, not theirs.

AUfisher has been looking for advice on rods around $150 or so since joining. I think he is just looking for suggestions. Here's mine: Spinning: Avid AVS68MXF Baitcasting: AVC68MXF 8-)

Can someone help me with my Curado?
That's silly...Brand new, out of the box it might not have any brakes on. That would be an issue for most guys, including me! Believe me, messing with the brakes is no big deal. 8-)

best pound test for smallies?
I agree! I have been experimenting with InvizX #8 on a spinning rod and AbrazX 100% on a baitcaster. They are both working out perfectly. My only issue is the price. 8-)

Can someone help me with my Curado?
Well, the Curado is VERY user friendly, there shouldn't be any issues if you have fished any other baitcaster. 8-)

Can't set the hook?
Reel in the slack and set the hook the instant you sense the line is tight. This is "feel" that you develop over time. 8-)

Can someone help me with my Curado?
If you are completely new to baitcasting, put on all the brakes and tighten the cast control to where the lure doesn't fall. Practice with a 1/2 oz weight. After a few successful casts, back the cast control off just a bit. When you get comfortable, shut down two opposing brakes. Fish this year with 4 on, two off. Good luck! 8-)

Rod action for Spinnerbaits.
Probably, unless you throw light lures. 3/8 oz and under will work better with Medium Power. 8-)

The point is, the macro economics suggests the greatest wealth transfer in history. Specific recipients are not important, it's the money coming out of our pockets that counts! 8-)

Loopy Line
Try a spool of #6 Yo-Zuri Hybrid Utra Soft. I spray it with KVD Line & Lure Conditioner about every 20 cranks as I initially spool the reel. 8-)

Drop Shot baits?
First of all, I like a heavy bell weight (1/2 oz) so you can jiggle the rig without moving it forward. Gamakatsu Octopus Circle Hook for-sure! #1 bait: 4" Slug Go Others: Robo Worm, GYCB 6 1/2" Kut Tail and Lake Fork Tackle Live Magic Shad. 8-)
