  1. No. The perfect example is the stretch of water west of Panther Creek down to the islands. Unfortunately, it gets pounded pretty hard! Right now gravel bars and the deeper water just off the bars should be hot. I'm fishing the other side of the lake this weekend, out of Florence. We have been having some luck in front of the islands, but current is everything. -Kent
  2. Gravel banks and any structure off those banks. http://www.strikeking.com/journal/00055/4.php 8-)
  3. My definition: Clear: Gin clear like the reservoirs of the White River Relatively clear: 5-8' of visibility Stained: 3-5' of visibility. Usually green (lakes) or sometimes grayish (Tennessee River) Muddy: Mississippi River All the ponds I fish in the metropolitan area are stained except in the dead of winter when they become relatively clear. 8-)
  4. So, what was "The Lure"? 8-)
  5. CONGRATULATIONS!
  6. There is no need to change the hooks on XCalibur, River2Sea, Yo-Zuri, Lucky Craft, Sebile or Megabass lures. 8-)
  7. Spring through early fall for green fish. Autumn through winter for small jaws. 8-)
  8. Seems impossible to me......................
  9. Specifically, Avid AVC66MF/ CH50MG or Curado 200E7. 8-)
  10. Well Professor, "Irregardless" is used in speech, but is not considered appropriate in edited prose. Use "regardless" instead. -Miss Manners a.k.a. roadwarrior
  11. Although I don't think it really makes a difference, here are a few suggestions: Gin clear water: Fluorocarbon or Hybrid green which blends almost perfectly Stained: Hybrid Purple Smoke Pea soup: Any green, including braid Purely for aesthetics: Silver reel = clear or white line Black reels = purple smoke Green reels = green line 8-)
  12. Geez...Don't ya all buy a new lure once in awhile? There are so many options without rattles, why go through the trouble of modification? It just doesn't make any sense to me. :
  13. I think your specs are perfect! I'll let other guys make specific brand recommendations. -Kent

  15. We can be more specific if you state the price range you are looking for. Generally, the best value is a combo package from one of the big name retailers...ON SALE. For around $150 you will get $200-$250 worth of MSRP. Another option is being patient and buying gear off our Flea Market. We have GREAT deals all the time. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior
  16. Okay guys. No edits or deletions, but this thread has drifted way off track. Some may say you're still addressing the reel, but that's not how I see it. This thread is closed. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  17. I'm getting beat up for no pics and no scale... So, I'll say, they were probably at least tournament "keepers".
  18. If you have it cleaned and repaired by a professional you will have a "new" reel which is far better than buying another used reel. 8-)
  19. Geez... Welcome back...I just referenced you on another thread and like magic...Here you are! p.s. My comments on the other thread were meant to paraphrase a theme, not actually a quote. If there is any issue, please let me know. -Kent
  20. The "jump" is all about patience...Are you willing to go hours on end without catching a fish? Most of the "big bass guys" it seems, have simply caught their fill of smaller bass. As Fish Chris has often stated, "Not catching a fish doesn't bother me, it's simply a part of the time spent working for the big bite." 8-)
  21. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  22. #15 retains a lot of coil when stored on your reel for an extended period of time. If you troll the line, it will help. 8-)
  23. #1 They are beautiful: http://www.sebileusa.com/p_koolie.html I fish the Possessed Koolie M118 3/4 oz Shallow Diver jerkbait pictured in the attached link. #2 Design, engineering, components and performance are exceptional. This lure is good-to-go right out of the box. #3 Most importantly, they are very effective. Maybe the reason is very few bass have ever seen this lure! 8-)
  24. Nice fish, GREAT story! 8-)
