Yo-Zuri Hybrid

Recommended Posts

I just respooled my worm rod with this stuff............... And LOVE it! I just might have to respool all my rigs with this. I never would have thought casting would have been so smooth.

A+ to Yo-Zuri, Roadwarrior and others for getting me turned on to this line!

yea it's a very good line.  I'm not fully committed to it as of yet, because I also use seaguar abrazx and invizx.  But it's a very good line, and very cheap for a good quality line.

I've been thinking of trying the Hybrid in 12# but don't know how it compares with "normal" line.  I used to use PLine CXXtra strong in 12# (15# was just too stiff) would you happen to know how the Hybrid compares with the PLine 12#?

Sorry jason, I haven't used P Line..I'm sure someone can help you though..Oh, re: the 12lb, I always use the hybrid ultrasoft..very managable imho..for comparision, I like it better than izorline xxxx in 12lb. if that helps at all.

Btw, while I was at the Fred hall show, I asked the Yozuri rep about applying KVD line conditioner to the hybrid, he said that it cannot penetrate the line so it's preety much usless to apply it, that goes for the ultrasoft too. I know RW, likes to use the KVD line conditioner.  ;)

If you like P-Line, I think you will like Yo-Zuri Hybrid,

but some people don't. That will always be the case

with most things. Try it for yourself and see. The line

is not expensive, you can experiment without much

risk.

Good luck!

I have never heard that. Anyone else?

No.

I find KVD makes a noticeable difference.

RW, Do you fish any Flou. line? If so what do you like? The reason I ask is I was in a tournament last year and I lost a good 5 lb'er next to the boat because my line broke and that cost me 1 st. place and big fish! I was fishing the XPS Flou. line and I have other people say that this line will just brake on you at times. So I thought I would just see what you fish and like.

Seaguar

Inviz #8 for spinning tackle.

AbrazX #12 for baitcasting gear.

I'm just starting to experiment, but so

far I like these lines. The downside is

their cost: $16 and $20 for 200 yards.

Ouch!

Thanks RW, I will take a good look at that line. And the XPS is not a cheap line $$ so that Seaguar is not too much more of a cost! How long have you been fishing the Seaguar?

It's just part of the mix, one rod with each.

No more than 10 fishing hours on each. So

far, no issues and most surprising, very little

memory.

Don't read too much into this, I'm still Mr. Yo-Zuri!

;D ;D

I've tried both yo-zuri and p-line. I prefer yo-zuri. It's not expensive, and is great line. I've tried 10 and 15#.

Kent, we must have 2 different batches of yozuri then...I find that it makes no difference, as the line works great off the spool as is.. ;)

X-Tex Cobra??

Surely you jest.

yep, that is the line.  I loved it, but I was using it on ultra-light tackle fishing small.  But, using logic and noticing it is no longer made, I am sure it was really not a good line in the long run.

Rw, I did load up on the Yo-Zuri. But BPS was out of the Seaguar Inviz but only had 12 so I bought that for my BC. And the Seaguar AbrazX they only had 6 lb. so I bought the Seaguar Red Label. in 8 lb. Do you know anything about the line? I did but it for my spinning.

Thanks  ;)

I haven't tried the Ultra Soft yet but the regular Yo Zuri Hybrid (10-lb test) on my Scorpion reels and it has given me some issues.  Main problem I have had with it is that it has too much memory for my liking - Note: I haven't used it with any kind of line conditioner.  But it does cast a mile and has very good abrasion resistence.  Now if only I could get rid of the memory issue so it can sit tight on my spool like braid does...  ;)

Inviz is MUCH softer than AbrazX.

I haven't tried Red Label.
