  1. Gotta love it! http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/
  2. I suggest ONLY fishing on days ending with a "y". :
  3. The Omega is a nice little reel. My partner has a couple for kids and people who don't fish much. I have used them for skipjack (striper bait). These reels are several years old and have never been serviced. As far as spincasters go, these are great. 8-)
  4. Nice pics! Do you keep the camera in your contraband bag? I think you're suppose to turn that stuff in before going fishing.
  5. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  6. Hmm... You must have met exactly the wrong guy at BPS. Tip tops are virtually free and anyone can replace them. This is a terrible story. Anyhow, the replacement will have no affect on your rod. >
  7. How 'bout that? Owner, designer and pro respond in short order. Thanks Big O. 8-)
  8. Well, a "pocket rocket" works about 95% of the time and it's almost free! Attach a large paper clip to a 3 oz sinker. 8-)
  9. I remember...Beautiful pic, too! 8-)
  10. Here ya go: http://www.strikeking.com/tips/rigging-the-rage-tail-shad.php 8-)
  11. As I recall, the cheese and wine was Saturday night with some remnants Sunday evening. I fished with CJ and arrived at the lodge Saturday morning. Although liquor is sold at the bars, there are no liquor stores close. There are gas stations, one next to the park, that sell beer only. So, beer is easy, but bring your own wine and whiskey. 8-)
  12. My rod for weightless soft plastics is the Legend Elite ES70MF. 8-)
  13. Lake Champlain, Lake Erie or Lake St. Clair. 8-)
  14. Geez... Anyone that's ever fished for smallmouth realize that 30.35 is HUGE! 8-)
  15. WOW! One heck of a fish and GREAT pic!
  16. Excellent points...The devil's in the details! 8-)
  17. When I was that age my dad was the trolling motor. Losing a lure, any lure, was a very big deal. Topwater was the solution. Zara Puppy and Original Floating Rapala are what I suggest. Both will get strikes and fishing them is active, not boring like finesse is for kids. 8-)
  18. Everyone's going to like this bait! 8-)
  19. No kidding! You were very lucky. 8-)
  20. Great story anyhow. I felt like I was standing next to you! You'll get her next time. 8-)
  21. Lots of rain recently and a cool summer has resulted in an early start to the season. Mid-October is a more typical starting time frame. Knock on wood, it doesn't need to get better! 8-)
  22. It's not a design flaw. Post in the Shimano section. If there is a simple answer, Bantam1 will tell you what needs to be done. Otherwise, the reel should be returned for exchange or sent to Shimano for repair or replacement. 8-)
  23. Speedy Madewell and I will be featured next Saturday on the premier edition of a new regional fishing show. I'll post a link next week if you want to tune in. As far as the fishing went...Well, we didn't get on the river until 11:00 due to heavy rain and severe thunderstorms. I fished artificials until 2:00 without a strike, my partners boated twelve smallmouth, including a couple of 4+ and a 5+. At 2:05 I landed my first brown, probably a little shy of the big bass the guys caught earlier. We stopped fishing around 4:00 to finish the show. Twenty-two bronzebacks in total and I managed a few. Sunday I had plans with my family (birthday). Speedy met his clients at the ramp around 7:00. He called me from his home at 4:30, which was pretty odd. Turns out his party went through three pounds of minnows before 2:00 and were ready for beers! In thirty years of fishing the Tennessee River, this was Speedy's "Best Day Ever" and he never wet a hook! Thirty-two smallmouth, eight over 5lbs, the big fish was 6 1/2. I don't think these two clients had ever caught a smallmouth. Nice start, huh? 8-)
