White Bass in Stained Water - Tips? Tricks?
White single tail grubs on a jig head; silver/black jerkbaits or just a Rapala original floater; Silver Buddy; Cordell Gay Blade; Little George; Swarming Hornet/ Lake Fork Tackle Live Magic Shad. If none of that works, live baby crawdads ALWAYS work! 8-)

Whats the best method for catching Trout using a rod and reel, lures, bait?
Panther Martin, gold spinner, black w/ chartreuse spots; Rapala original floater, Countdown and X-Rap (XR08). I like the rainbow trout pattern, but I'm not sure color makes a difference. Fish with ultra light spinning gear, stocker trout are sissy fish. 8-)

Staying with only one type of lure to get better with it
That's how I learned to fish a jig. 8-)

Handmade lures
GMAN Is a long time member and custom builder: http://www.siebertoutdoors.com/ I also fish Micro Munch Tackle Jig. Craig DeFronzo is another long term member and writer: http://micromunchjigs.homestead.com/welcome.html However, I recommend taking a look at *** and the Megatrike Evolution E2 jigs. They are not "handmade", but they are well made! http://www.***/?refid=store 8-)

Hello from a longtime fisher-woman!
Welcome aboard! Spend some time in the BassResource.com Library, "Fishing Articles" and "Tacklebox" at the top of the page. In addition to the articles, there are literally hundreds of links to more! Don't be shy, post a question for a specific technique and the membership will help with some answers. We have many very knowledgeable anglers that will respond. Good Luck! 8-)

Possibly an attempted abduction
When perps like this are caught, the only question is: Were they shot trying to escape or resisting arrest? >

Should Have Left The Scale At Home
BP station in Counce. Buy the "big" bass minnows. The size of the split-shot depends on current. Ideally, you want to tick the bottom occasionally. Take plenty of tackle, you will lose a lot! Position your boat facing upstream about casting distance plus five yards off the bank. The perfect float is when your bait and boat are drifting at the same speed, effectively fishing "flat" water. ALWAYS cast upstream, NEVER downstream. Good luck! 8-)

Should Have Left The Scale At Home
Live bait, #6 Gamakatsu Octopus Circle Hook, split-shot rig. Live bait outfishes artificials at least 5:1, maybe 10:1. However, on this particular trip, the jig proved to be very effective. I caught the two largest smallmouth and bigger is always better! As far as numbers go, between four of us we probably had +/- thirty smallmouth and a couple of hundred pounds of "other species". That includes a 13 lb blue cat! I caught around half a dozen trash fish, a couple of green trout and five brownies. 8-)

when do you keep bass?
Well, if it's going to die, I will keep the bass and find someone that wants to clean and cook the fish. However, at "The Secret Pond" we keep and kill every little bass we catch. If someone wants them, they get a limit. Otherwise, on the bank for the scavengers. The pond is lost and I haven't fished it this year. Too much catch & release.

Should Have Left The Scale At Home
It's a little early for the big girls to be in play, but we had some luck last Saturday on the Tennessee River. My partners fished live bait, but I opted for a 3/4 oz football jig and trailer. The first fish "of the season" came ten minutes into the first drift. This baby came flying out of the water from the get-go! I'll post a picture later. Just under 5, about 4lbs 15oz, but she looked like 6+ to me. Darn scale! :

For you light tackle guys....
Time on the water is too valuable for me. Even having a little luck with junk baits doesn't cut it. Imagine how much better you would have done with the whole presentation. 8-)

If not Braid, what else is there?
Ouch! Did that turn the big girl into one of those rare subspecies, Filet-O-Fish?
