  1. WTG! That's a great start. 8-)
  2. What really strikes me as odd is the we have had many dates like this over the past 50 years. Now there is a big gap to the next date and another one thousand years after that! Weird.
  3. No argument with the premise, but perhaps there is another motive. The Stella series has never come with a spare spool. If you like the reel, but want options, you buy additional reels. It worked on me!
  4. I don't know, but the Live Pointer is the most disappointing lure I have ever bought. Then I found them on sale for $6 and bought two more! Fishermen are crazy...or maybe it's just me.
  5. Wow! Culln5, that's one heck of a fish! ;D ;D ;D
  6. For many of us, this will be the last: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,547820,00.html 8-)
  7. Broncos 6-10. They appear to have nothin' going, but the conference is probably the weakest in the NFL.
  8. Maybe you can find a deal and save a little money, but my suggestion is to step up to the G. Loomis IMX SJR783S or SJR843S. 8-)
  9. After fishing the 683C for awhile, I would rate it comparable to a G. Loomis IMX, medium heavy/ fast action with a firm tip. Specific applications are for any single hook 1/4 - 3/4 oz lure or bait. 8-)
  10. St. Croix Avid AVC70MM will load just fine and propel light to medium weight lures into another zip code! Of course this also requires a comparable reel and line, something like a Curado and Yo-Zuri Hybrid #12. 8-)
  11. Yes, tail down as if the bait is looking up. This is the easiest lure on the planet to "walk the dog". Left-right, left-right, left-right, then pause. Maybe fast, maybe slow, you will just have to experiment. 8-)
  12. Wow! Nice pics, too. 8-)

  15. #4 or #6 Gamakatsu Octopus Circle Hooks are ideal for live bait. 95% of the hook-ups are in the joint of the jaw; gut hooks are extremely rare. There is NO hook-set involved: reel down and firmly lift the rod tip...Fish On! 8-)
  16. I caught my PB on a Norman Fat Boy, bluegill pattern. The Bomber Square A is another suggestion. 8-)
  17. Nice fish, great pics! 8-)

  19. We have listed links in FAQs that cover everything you might want to know about Senkos and senko-type lures. I'm glad you "discovered" them, but they have been a very popular bait for more than a decade. Spend some time in the BassResource.com Library, "Fishing Articles" and "Tackle" at the top of the page. We have a huge collection of articles and links to more! Good luck and Welcome Aboard! This thread is closed. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  20. I think your buddy was doing you a favor. Hooks are the most important tackle we all have. Several brands offer high quality hooks at a reasonable price. Save money somewhere else, don't skimp on hooks. 8-)
  21. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  22. Long casts are key. You want to be behind the swirl and bring the lure through the spot. I catch a very high percentage of the fish I see feeding near the bank. 8-)
  23. "Mossyback" is a series (GLX, IMX, GL2, GL3, etc.) If you want a 7' rod, the two to focus on are the MBR844C and BCR854, both GLX. 8-)
