Ok im a diehard abu garcia man but i was lookin at the extreme baitcaster made by bassproshops the small one it weighs 8 oz im wondering is it worth it ??? Anyone have one??? I like the magnetic dial and aluminum frame .

I voted ABU oil on both my baitcasters and spinning reels,but in between fishing days i use mainly remoil just a light spray on my bearings when i go deep into my reels i use silicote!!

I find it easier to do a trilene knot BUT you take the tag end back through your loop on the outside of the line never failed me using power pro and so easy to tie

Get a shimano cant beat the price and that warrenty,and not much diff in sensitivity i held my buddys compared to mine its a little lighter but not by much,Airrius is a good one also

Same here 62 rods 4 hard tackle boxes 6 soft ones 3 rubbermaid contianers filled with lures 8 pistol cases with my reels id need to take um outside to do a pick of all that i have ...And i still BUY more each week it never ends

I guess thats possible too , Ive got 20 on it. Think tonight I will rerig the rod put on some mono and tie the braid to it. You def need to tie mono or tape it what could be happening is your line is sliding around your spool BEFORE it has enough momentum to turn it then all of a sudden it does BUT its to late and its 10 foot in front of ya then you reeling it back with thet loose spool of line each time is making it 10 times worse each time

depends if your finness fishing u can go with a graphite model 101 102 if ur using line 10 lb and up get a 500 Aluminum body just in case u use spinning reels in weeds or wood or latch on to a 10 pounder and he heads for cover

One is a solora metal series 3035 pfluegur and the other is a 101 garcia .I know the drags will prob cost more then the reeels.LOL but i use power pro on them and seems like they pulsate when i latch into even a 1 pound bass,never know when i will catch a 5 pounder and i dont want my drag being my weak link!!

Its a gimmick if u ask me But if u feel confident using do so i say its a gimmick cause the same gama red hooks are about 40 cents more then the reg hooks . I use them also but havent seen any more or less using um!!

I use a shimano clarus 6-6 fast action rod along with 8 pound trimaxx and a ABU-Garcia 602 and it is perfect for what ur talking about

NO dont........ try it out i have a few j-11 i use with broken lips they still work only way id get rid of a bait is if it was literally BROKE in half..Ud be surprised how many ppl use jerk baits and other swimbaits with broken lips that CATCH fish

This is suppose to be fun like fishing ,But anyway i too have expensive rods yes i love there lightness and sensitivity I also like a durable and easy too use rod at times when im catching fish thats all that matters .My point was if they are biting on worms or jigs i know for a fact im not goin to be using my ugly stiks but when those fish are aggressive and showing off i can use my uglystik with much more hookups .I find the light tip very good at makin pinpoint cast and i max my rod out making casts with it what more do i need. A 200 dollar crankin rod isnt gonna make me catch more fish if anything im goin to be pulling my cast as not to have to deal with a broken tip and a lax warrenty a ugly stik to me is a workhorse rod not a finnesse rod >i might be bitin off more then i can chew but i can bet a pretty penny that rod and reel combo i have had has seen more strikes then a lot of the 4 5 or 6 hundred dollar combos have caught fish!!!

Im wondering i have a few spinning reels with felt drag washers can i cut out and use carbotex or any other drag material and will it have to be the same thickness or can i go a little bit thicker<Is thicker better or the thinnest i can get away with???

You have got to be kidding LOL im seriuos i have a pistol grip 5'6" with a 4600,c3 and power pro 12 /50 on it i have been using at least 10 yrs prob 150 days a yr that i can cast left or right handed, backwards, up trees, laying down, broken arm, broken thumb you name it i have done it with this setup !!! The rod and the reel weigh 13 oz total i have perfected the art of baitcasting with this set up !!
