I dont like the new guides they have now But the ones i have have fuji guides on them.And id put my 30 dollar pistol grip ROD up agaisnt any rod, any price range, for throwing 1/4oz to 1/2 oz spinnerbaits with accuracy and speed!!!

I think they have been proven the ones they sell now are diff then a yr ago and a 3 yr warrenty WOW ....loooks dont matter to me .I think imma have to go play with one at gander mountain

I have coastal UglySiks i use for striper fishing they have enough back bone for anything and i have pistol grips with power pro even the med action ones with PP have enough backbone to set a hook a good distance granted i only use uglystiks for spinner baits and crankbaits.Either you love um or you hate um.I can say this if it was a survival situation and i needed one rod to put food in my belly it would be a ugly stik 5-6 pistol grip with a ABU 4600,c3 and 12/50 PP

Make sure that worm and jig are REALLY DRY also

I use pistol grips more so then my trigger rods i have about 15 of them and too me they are the most versatile for short and med range casting which i find myself doing the most.I have both 6 footers and 5-6 rods.Falcons comprise the most of them but i have 3 ugly stiks also and a few berkleys,Garcias.Lots of places have them on clearance for some odd reason ppl think 7 foot trigger rods are the"IN" thing they have a place and time (c-rigs,big crankbaits,) But too me i have more fun and seem too be more efficient using Pistol grips!!

I too have quite a few black max,s id never let um go so easy to use and DURABLE!!!

I use them also the skirts ain't much but wow the heads on um are tough as nails , i us the white with the willow leaf blades most!!

I think they have rings like every 1/4 inch made of zirconia or alconite or they spiral,but still a lot of contact which can be good for heat deflection but bad for friction on a cast .All jokes aside id think some of the top rod makes would have figured this out already and would have done research !!!

Id like to know also i mean maybe once or twice i can remember ever seeing more then one treble actully in the fishes mouth 9 out of 10 times when u take a fish off its caught by 1 hook on the treble and by just one treble!!!!????

Berkly Big game 12 lb will work great on it.Its not a finese reel but trust me once u get to throwing it u will be amazed at what u can do with it !!

10lb 4oz for me and this was in 85 when i had no worrys cept "what pond do i go to today " out of 16 ponds withing 3 miles of each other my personal best as a adult is 8 and 1/2 wich was 6 yrs ago .My 10 pounder came on a 9 inch manns jelly worm in purple ....Hopefully this yr i will beat my maryland record of 11.2 i caught this bass using a shimano bantam and a fenwick rod 14 stren i wish i still had that setup i bought it at true value reel was 30 i think rod was 25 it was MY best and aside from a 5500 c3 i had was my only reel.I did own a couple zebco 202,s and a DaM spinning reel WOW now that i think about it seems the simpler the tackler the more fishing i got done!!

Zooms, Rapalas, and ummm depends what ur fishing for,muddy water ,deeep, ETC, etc many variables

I dont have any scientific proof of anything but i use armor all on my line before i spool it use the kind u get in the plastic container with the little rags fold it and put ur line between it as you reel !!! I have been doin this for 2 weeks and so far so good all i see is improvement casting and the same knot strength !!

Try out a pistol grip too may be old fashioned but you wont belive how accurate u are with one i just wish there where more options with them i mean not many companys make them anymore at least with a mod tip and a heavy action i have 3 falcon pistol grips 6 footers heavy action but can still hurl a 3/8 jig or a mag zoom lizard with ease its gonna be what i use for frogs my first yr....

Id say med heavy or heavy with a mod tip IMO a fast tip is good for smaller jigs like say 1/4oz anything more a mod tip works best loads up for me for precise accuracy the heavy action makes it easier to set that hook,but then again i use pistol grips for all my jiggin !!
