Help with designated jerkbait rod! Will he used for 99.9% jerkbaits
I went as inexpensively as possible for dedicated jerkbait set up. I ended up with a Shimano SLX 6’10” MxF rod with SLX 7.2:1 reel. $129.99 . I’ve been using it for over a year now and am extremely happy with it.

Dick's Sporting Goods what are they thinking
If shopping at TW, you can use the $5 off code and shipping is only $1.75. Pretty good deal. The problem with TW is they charge sales tax now. There are other online retailers not charging tax...yet.

Advice for carrying fishing gear in a kayak?

That's a tough deal. You will be happy with the Tatula XT. IMO even at $119 it's a great deal. I believe the XT line is great value for the money.- Budget Pitching/Flipping Rod
I have the same rod. Smoking deal and the rod is worth every penny.- Peg Board Lure Storage

That sounds about right. I still need a place to store it all. My wife isn’t happy that it takes up a large portion of a walk in closet’s space. I have it all in bins, tackle bags, 3600 planos, and boat bags. I should post a pic. Our three car detached garage is the ultimate solution. In a custom cabinet.- Peg Board Lure Storage
I have poles, reels, line type in Excel. I could put the lures and terminal tackle in too, it’s hundreds of lines. Lots of details.- Peg Board Lure Storage
I think it will cut down on my spend too. It should make it easier to see what I actually have before I purchase more. Got to shake the monkey... I am working on a design for a fishing gear storage cabinet/locker. Pull out drawers: fishing pole holders and peg board. 2 pole holders, 2 peg board. Roughly 8’ tall x 2’ deep x 1’ wide. And a stack of cabinets 8’ tall x 2’ deep x 2’ wide.- Peg Board Lure Storage
How many use this method to store lures that are still in the package and are awaiting usage? How does it work for you? Pictures of your set up? thanks for the help!- Any Crankbait Lovers Still Out There?
My favorite way to fish is power fishing crankbaits: square bills, medium and deep divers. Going deep was my best producer last year. Deep cranks: 6th Sense Cloud 9 C-15 and 20, Berkley Dredger 20.5, Strike King 5 and 6XD, Rapala DT 16, and deep jerkbaits: Megabass Vision 110 +2. I stick to perch and ghost patterns mostly. Some red/brown craw too.- multipurpose rod
I missed the light lures part. 7 foot medium Tatula would be good for that usage. I have the 7’1” MHxF Tatula. Nice rod. Good balance, nice tip.- multipurpose rod
6'10 MHF Tatula rod TTU6101MHFB $99 SportsmansOutfitters This is my go-to multi-purpose rod. I have it paired with a Tatula SV TWS. Killer set up.- Tell us about your kayak

Agree with others, love fishing from my kayak, good exercise, solitude, and I am more in-tune with what is going on around me. Easy to transport and move around. I have fished out of a Jackson Cruise Angler 10 for several seasons. It is a paddle kayak. Very happy with it. At the end of 2019, I purchased a Old Town Topwater PDL 106. I am in the process of setting it up and have not fished out of it yet (been snowing here lately). I will use the pedal kayak for larger waters and windy days. This also allows me to bring someone with me, since I have 2 kayaks.- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Got my Curve 55s in colors I didn’t have and wanted to try. And a Megabass Dyna Response blade bait. Can’t wait to try it on the Columbia for smallies.- Bye bye boats!
Back in the day, all we had was a jon boat. Fished out of that for years and years. Great way to get on the water. In my opinion, it was as easy as dealing with a kayak. We just put the 12 foot jon in the back of the truck and off we went. We used electric trolling motors. - Budget Pitching/Flipping Rod
