  1. I use 3/8 for the depth you describe. Right now, I am using 3/4 because the fish are deeper this time of year. Under 10 feet, I use 3/8, over 10 I use 3/4. Both are 3 inch length, but I do have a few 2.4s. Try to keep it simple.
  2. I just got an email saying my kayak arrived at the local delivery location! They are scheduling delivery for next Wednesday. I have to say, so far, the emails/communications have been excellent.
  3. I was hearing the monkey all summer. It was 10% off on Black Friday and back on Memorial Day it was 15% off, needless to say, I fed the monkey. The good news is I live very close to many lakes, it will get used. I have a smokercraft for larger waters..I prefer the kayak. It’s a blast and relaxing for me anyway. I’ll be keeping my paddle yak too.
  4. Monkey got me for a couple of poppers during the TW 20% off sale.
  5. I have a paddle kayak, but the bait monkey talked me into a peddle drive: Old Town Topwater PDL 106.
  6. I just ordered one. So far so good, should be here this week or next. I’ll report back soon. I’ve ordered tons of kayak gear from them in the past, this is the first kayak. Never had an issue, so based upon that, I’m hoping the kayak will arrive in good shape.
  7. Yo-Zuri Hybrid or Sufix Siege
  8. My SOT has scupper holes that I typically leave open all year, except the ones directly under the seat those get plugged. In the summer, I am wearing long sleeve sun-blocking shirts, pants, hat (I like the booney style), gloves, and Columbia boat shoes (all of these dry very quickly). The winter is a totally different situation. When it is under 50 degrees outside, I am wearing full rain gear with layering underneath (merino wool). Warm gloves that can become fingerless and Columbia rubber boots. Of course, I always were a life vest. The trick is to stay warm and dry in the winter.
  9. I watched the episode and they were saying Clear Lake gets down to 36 degrees in the Winter. They said at times, there can be ice on the shoreline. That's pretty cold. I agree, OOS as soon as I watched the video.
  10. The Megabass lure was a Deep-x 300. I ordered a few of the DDs a few days after launch. Still waiting. I plan to try them over the Christmas holiday, if they get to me by then!
  11. I wanted to purchase one of these, in either of those colors. Let us know how you like them.
  12. Got my TW order (not pictured: Daiwa DX swimbait rod):
  13. Where I live, perch and rainbow trout are a staple food for bass, so I choose colors accordingly. Perch Trout Colors in that range

  15. Yes! Ditto! This needs to be invented.
  16. Crankbaits (square bills to deep divers) - Yo-Zuri Hybrid (8, 10 and 12 lb) Spinnerbaits - Yo-Zuri Hybrid (8, 10 and 12 lb) Jerkbaits - Seaguar Invisx 10 lb Jigs/Worms - Seaquar Invisx (10 or 14 lb) Frogs - Daiwa J-braid 65 lb Swimbaits - Berkley Big Game 20 lb Finesse - Seaguar Invisx 6 lb I don't use leaders for anything.
  17. I have all 4 of those lures. The warpig is a really good lipless. I have been using it in 1/4 ounce size. I also have the Wildthang, Digger and Dredger. I have had some good success with the Digger, grinding rocks. The 8.5 or 10.5 are the sizes I have been using (craw colors). The Wildthang in 8.5 has caught a few fish for me as well (all of these I have needed to be tuned). I like them in craw colors. I have a few Dredgers, the 14.5 is the one I use the most. Only caught one on that lure so far. Berkley makes a good crankbait at a reasonable price in my opinion.
  18. Got a few swimbaits and a blade bait in the mail today...
  19. I nose hook the Fluke and Senko for drop shotting
  20. Its the same rod MN Fisher quoted. The heavy version is rated 2 to 8 ounces.
  21. Zoom Super Fluke SK KVD Dreamshot Senko (4 or 5 inch)
  22. I ordered the Old Town Topwater PDL 106 on Black Friday. Only saved 10%, but better than nothing. Should be here next week, fingers crossed.
  23. I went through the same process recently. Ended up with Daiwa Lexa 300 Winn reel and Daiwa DX 8' Heavy swimbait rod. I hope to test it out this weekend on my home lake. I got them during BF sales: $129.99 for the Lexa and $87.99 for the DX.
  24. Thanks for timely post A-Jay! I just got a new suit, I am sure it will need to be cleaned at some point. I added this to my cart on Amazon for a future purchase.
  25. A couple of reels from BF sales. Tatula 150, 5.5:1 Tatula SV 103, 6.3:1
